Tosun won't require surgery

Cenk Tosun has learned that the knee injury that forced his withdrawal from the Turkey squad last week isn't as serious as feared.

The striker captained his country in their 2-1 friendly win over Greece on Thursday but had to be substituted after sustaining the injury.

There were concerns that the problem might need an operation to correct but the club have confirmed that he won't need to go under the knife.

He will report back for pre-season training on 1st July but will still be undergoing treatment with Everton medical staff at Finch Farm at that time.

I wonder if that's us knackered for selling him this summer?

What a Pity!

I thought an operation may have improved his goal-scoring capability.

If need be we have to cut our losses on the likes of him, Mirallas, Bolasie, Besic, Walcott, McCarthy, etc.

Fundamentally unsuited to how Silva wants his teams to play. Not enough pace, strength or movement.

If we can get £10 - 15 mil and free up his wages to re-invest in another striker then it has to happen. In a suitable set up he'd be half decent and he seems like a really good lad and makes all the right noises, but he doesn't contribute.
