Silva eyeing 'Benfica LAB' creator for backroom staff

New Everton manager, Marco Silva, wants to bring in former Benfica performance analyst, Bruno Mendes, according to a report in Portugal.
Record claim that the man is responsible for the development of Benfica LAB, the Lisbon club's highly-rated player development centre.
Under Mendes's supervision, almost every aspect of a player's fitness and performance was monitored, from sleep, diet and training to running speed, stamina and recovery time.
From that, models were created that used raw player data to optimise match readiness and personalised training schedules, with injury avoidance as a priority.
