Everton in Klaassen talks with Werder Bremen

Davy Klaassen is the subject of concrete interest from Werder Bremen according to reports in Germany.

The Dutch midfielder, who saw a January move to Napoli fall through, has struggled to settle in the Premier League and could be moved on this summer if the right offer were to come in.

Deich Stube began reporting of discussions between the two clubs over Klaassen yesterday and now Bild are suggesting that negotiations have been going on "for weeks" and that the 25-year-old has a four-year contract offer on the table worth £3.5m a year.

Any deal would likely represent a significant loss for the Blues who paid a little over £23m for Klaassen last summer but may have to settle for €15m (£13.4m) in order to get the player and his reported six-figure weekly salary off the books.

(It's worth noting that there isn't a consensus on Klaassen's wages which, depending on the source, have been cited as being between £50,000-a-week and £100,000.)
