Updated Red Bull Leipzig's pursuit of Ademola Lookman continues if a claim by The Mirror that they have lodged a further off of £22m for the winger is true.

The Bundesliga club have been trying to sign Lookman on a permanent deal ever since his successful loan spell with them ended in May but, publicly at least, they have consistently been told he is not for sale.

This latest report suggests that Leipzig's bid could eventually top £25m in add-ons which would still be short of what Sky Sports' sources claim is Everton's £28m valuation.

Blues boss Marco Silva is on record as saying that the 20-year-old is very much part of his plans but there is still speculation that the player remains unsettled on Merseyside.

Lookman wasn't included in the squad for the season opener at Wolves but was an un-used substitute for the home game against Southampton on Saturday.
