Everton said to be interested in Marcos Rojo
The less-reputable internet click-bait sites are claiming that Everton are at various stages of showing interest in another Man Utd reject, Marcos Rojo.
Everton are supposedly looking to increase the competition for places in defence, while Jose Mourinho, Silva's fellow countryman, is supposedly happy to see the player leave for pastures new. The logic says that, with Phil Jagielka nearing the end of his Premier League career, and Kurt Zouma by no means certain as a full-time acquisition, Siva will need reinforcements of the highest calibre.
But the Argentine defender, supposedly valued at £18M, isn't exactly pulling up trees at Old Trafford or he obviously would not be available. Marcos Rojo has not played any matches in 2018-19 as he enters his 5th season at the club. So this has all the hallmarks of "same old, same old", when Brands and Silva have clearly shown they are looking to break the mould on Everton's stale largely one-sided two-way relationship with the Manchester Club.
