Sandro Ramirez's season-long loan at Real Sociedad could be cut short amid reports the Spanish club are keen to offload him after just a couple of starts.

The striker was hoping to kickstart his stalled career with a return to La Liga after being informed he was surplus to requirements at Everton by Marco Silva.

Having failed to make the grade last season under Ronald Koeman, Sandro spent the second half of last season on loan at Valencia but failed to find the net there.

Having had his start to life at Sociedad disrupted by injury, the Spaniard looks to be experiencing a similarly difficult time at Anoeta Stadium but reports in Spain suggest he could be handed a lifeline by Villarreal who are in the market for a forward.

Sandro had two years left on the lucrative contract he signed in July 2017 when he joined the Toffees from Malaga in a £5.3m move.
