Everton tracking Nice star Tameze

| Monday, 13 May 2019 10comments  |  Jump to last
Nice midfielder Adrien Tameze is the subject of serious interest from Everton according to reports in France.

The 25-year-old was linked with a move to Watford in January when it seemed like they might lose Abdoulaye Doucoure to Paris St Germain before nearly joining Cardiff and now RMC Sport are saying that the Blues are following Tameze's situation "closely".

Also reportedly being eyed by Atalanta, Tameze has two years remaining on his current contract in Nice where he has been excelling under the stewardship of manager Partrick Vieira.

I tend to take these rumours with a pinch of salt but if true it would seem that Gana is on his way.

I hope not because we need to keep our quality and consistent players and build on that.

Jay, as has been said on here before over various issues, not just transfers, is that we never get the full story, and that can be understandable too, as many journos fishing for snippets of information, tend to trawl fan websites.

I'm sure deep down, the Club already know whether Gana will be staying, or going, and while all sorts of names will be thrown into the mix, many being 'red' or 'blue herrings' into the bargain, it is never the less encouraging to hear that they are pro-actively seeking either reinforcements or replacements.

Having said all that, as usual I will believe they are ours when I see them signing and wearing the shirt.

I’m pretty sure Gueye is off in the summer. It seemed like a farewell after the Burnley game. Since January he played like a player asked to give his all in the next six months before being allowed to leave. I just hope we get top dollar for him.

I haven’t seen him play but the kid from Chelsea, who has been on loan at Wigan, is supposed to be a very good young player, and Everton are also being linked with him.

Reece James, is his name, and I was getting told about how good he was the other week, and that he was also ready for the EPL.

Tony@4 Reece James is a good young RB. Could be a good back up to Coleman though we have Kenny and potentially Holgate too. Also Astley who was excellent for U23s at time this season though he’s only 17 I think and will need another few years probably.

Tony @4, I heard that too mate about Reece James being allegedly on Brands' watch list, but there again as with Zouma and Tammy Abrahams, it's the Chelsea connection with the Transfer Ban/Appeal that all hinges on.

Speaking of Chelsea, I saw on the news that Danny Drinkwater has been done and banned from driving, for being caught in his Range Rover, over the limit.

With a name like Drinkwater, you'd have thought he'd have known better (not bitter) so he will be grounded for a while.

If Gueye goes ndidi of Leicester should be sounded out as a replacement.

Bobby, Ndidi looks a quality player and very young too but I don't think anyone is going to swap Leicester for us. They have an impressive young crop of talent and a manager who does well with such potential. They have similar resources to us and will be pushing hard (with us hopefully) next season to join the top 6.

Bobby #7 - agree with your Ndidi thought.

I think we'll be linked with every midfielder in the French league between now and August, as they'll all think Gueye is off to PSG so will link a Ligue 1 player with an exit to give the story some backbone.

Derek, Chelsea have 45 players on loan. I think it will do them good to stop buying players and take stock of their stock. They've already given away lukaku, De Bruyne, Salad, Schurrle and a few I cant remember. Perhaps we should scout all the players they have on loan, might pick up some bargains.
