Zouma looking shaky in the Euro Super Cup. Rudiger on the bench – so only a matter of time before big Kurt gets splinters.

Watching this super cup game and Zouma has just cost Chelsea a goal, and now it looks like VAR is not going to over-rule the referee? 2-2 maybe Barkley will get the winner?

John #43 Zouma appears to have had the opposite experience so far this season. :)

Josh! 😜 He's been okay tonight. A little basic but less skittish. He'll bury his pen if they get there.

On a side note Steph Frappart the referee tonight has been consummate, poised and unfussy. Handled all the VAR protocol well, but she's had good exposure to it.

Will Adrian take a pen?

Tony, apparently it wasn't a clear and obvious error by the referee. I thought that was the idea of VAR, to check on these decisions? I thought at first it was a pen, but different angles show there was maybe no contact. So don't know why VAR didn't over rule it?

I agree. She conducts herself well out there. Never looks rattled and explains herself to the players.

VAR will be just as much a talking point in the game as the officials' decisions before it came in. You cannot please all of the people all of the time.

If the ref calls it and the VAR uphold it or change it, then everyone who is adversely affected by the final outcome will complain. Human nature says the officials cannot win no matter what.

Players are to blame for a lot of the crap we see on the pitch especially the play acting and shirt pulling. The powers that be should ordain shirt-pulling as a foul every time, no matter where it happens.

At one time, only one or two players had reputations for 'diving' but these days it seems a pre-requisite for all players entering the penalty area.

Just seen the ‘losing' pen. What's the point in having all these rules if they fail at the first hurdle. Keeper is a yard off his goal line when he makes that save. Just boring now.

Another cup for that lot and we couldn't beat Millwall or Southampton last season. Telling you that I would be happy to finish 17th this season if we won a cup.

Luck of the devil these lot, their defence will have confidence in him now and Adrian will be on a high all season, Allison won't be missed.
VvD now nailed on for Ballon D'Or. You couldn't make it up.
rs, you always get exactly what it says on the tin

Why is there a link to this on an Everton fan website? 9 replies before this speaks volumes.
