One of the most inspiring stories in football this holiday season came from an unlikely place: Sierra Leone, Africa. In a new campaign by the humanitarian organization FANT (Football for a new tomorrow), an amputee football team from Sierra Leone sends a heartfelt video-message of support to some of the football superstars who have been side-lined this season due to severe injury. Among these are Evertons Andre Gomes.

Both Everton and Andre Gomes took to instagram to thank the Sierra Leoneans.

My first post on ToffeeWeb, I just found myself in awe of such great people! The very best of luck to them!

I thought this was Brilliant. I think the club should invite the lads to the next Sport Pesa Cup match, if there is one.

Great how they show how much they love football and playing it, I hope it is shown to all the players who turned up at Anfield last Sunday, came on the pitch and failed to show any real commitment, I think two or three will just shrug their shoulders, a few more might stop and think about how they performed in that game.

Everton in the community could do with helping these lads.

What a magnificent gesture. I'd assume most of those players lost limbs as small children to bombs or land mines during the brutal civil war there. What heart, to reach out as they have.

I agree. EIC and/or the club itself should reach out.
