With Everton out of the competition ignominiously at the first hurdle, interest in the iconic tournament is once again reduced this season.

Mo Besic, on loan at Sheffield United, started their FA Cup clash with Millwall on Saturday and opened the scoring with a delightful left-footed effort as they went on to win 2-0.

There has been talk of The Blades making the switch a permanent one, but Chris Wilder has revealed there is no provision for a break in the Everton midfielder's loan deal as things currently stand.

Just to throw a spanner in the works, if Liverpool advance in the FA Cup, the derby fixture could be moved again.

That Shrewsbury oggie was definitely a fix. I hope it's worth the lad's career once he's sussed.

Should they draw the 5th round tie and need a replay.

Shrewsbury doing what our first team couldn't...

Fran, I hope our lot we're watching that with their heads hung in shame.

Hope 'our lot' were watching Shrewsbury hold Liverpool to a draw tonight. 0-2 down and they came back to wipe the smile off the face of the man who can do no wrong!

Brian, there are no replays in the 5th Round, and all games are midweek.

Plain and simple, we need street fighters in our team not prima donnas. Same goes for the manager, he needs to regain his edge.

That Josh Laurent looked twice the player of any of our current midfielders.

Wow- Go Shrews. Talk about fight, not one our lot took Liverpool on. Everton FC have the backbone of a Jellyfish.

Apologies - I said we had no game this weekend, so we'd be spared the usual humiliation.

Unfortunately, I still feel humiliated, thanks to Shrewsbury Town's wonderful display against Liverpool, 2 down and come back to draw. Could Everton manage such a feat? Never!

Well done, Shrewsbury! Good luck in the reply.

So today, Shrewsbury Town of League One drew with the European Champions' second-rate team. We were defeated by just such a Reds team, a week or two ago.

Question: What is Moshiri doing, aided by Kenwright in his Moshiri-announced “enhanced role”, to remove the scourge of us becoming regular “giants” in the era of “giant-killing” euphoria?

In Kenwright's time as deluding overlord, we have been defeated by Wigan at home, Tranmere at home, and Shrewsbury away — so I suggest it's reasonable, given Moshiri's choices, to ask Moshiri what Kenwright might right now be telling him by way of avoiding such intolerable results.

It's amazing what a lower-league team with lower-league British players can achieve when they really give it a go... eh, Mr Brands!
