In these ever worrying troubled times, I thought I would lighten things up a bit by letting you all know what me, my lads and mates have decided to do to fill the void that is created by there being no available footy at the moment.
With the only football being played anywhere in the world in Belarus we all decided to "adopt" a team as their season is only 3 games old. The only stipulation was that no-one picked Dynamo Minsk because they are like the Red Shite of Belarus.
I opted for FK Slutsk! I was just drawn to the name. Appropriately, it was commented on considering my chequered past with the opposite sex...
They play in all-blue with an all-white away strip and the stadium holds about 2,000 I think.
My Mrs opened a BetFred account so she could continue doing the Irish Lotto while the bookies are closed and, lo and behold, BetFred TV are showing every game live (staggered kick-offs) — that was the clincher!
My beloved Slutsk currently sit 2nd in the table after a brilliant away win 3-2 at Isloch yesterday in the game of the day. 1-0 up, 1-1, 1-2 down, 2-2, 3-2!!! A penalty late on in the game, won and scored by their Mo Salah lookalike up top. He went down like him to win it too.
I really think it's our year this year!!! The standard I would say looks about League One Conference level. Get on it, gentlemen and ladies — you won't be disappointed.
Next up for the Slutsk, at home on Saturday, midday kick-off vs my eldest lad's team, Vitebsk. Can't wait!

Chris, thanks for the ' head's up ' info on Belarus Football. I knew they were playing still, as the only Country to do so, with the current Covid-19 restrictions, but wasn't aware that you could view them.
For my benefit and hopefully some others on TW how does this Betfred Account thing work? How much do you have to spend etc? I must admit to being a bit in the dark on these things. I have the odd flutter on The Big Races National etc, but have never had an Account.
Having said that, I seem to spend quite a bit on the National Lottery with virtually no return, apart from the odd 'free lucky dip' which never seems to even yield one number. maybe it's about time I had a go on The Irish.
Funnily enough when you mentioned FK Slutsk, it immediately reminded me of Leonid Slutsky who managed Hull City for a period having previously managed CSKA Moscow. He seemed to be doing okay then went on the slide for some reason.
You may well have started something on TW if enough people get interested we can all adopt a team of our own, and compare notes, argue the toss, you know the usual!

Hi Derek,
Thanks for your comments. It's really easy to open an account with Bet Fred. Just go through the usual rigmarole of setting up a password etc following their online link. Deposit a ٣ in your set-up account and this gives you access to their live TV. You don't even need to ever have a bet. As long as you keep a minimum of ٣ in your account, the live TV facility will be open to you.
There is no commentary. But if it's anything like the BT / Sky shite we get, who cares. No half-time bollocks either. Loads of action replays in slo-mo etc after goals and incidents too. We've got into it big time.
Bit of a downer. We (Slutsk) only drew at home on Saturday 1-1. could have gone top with a win! Next up away to Shakhtyor Soligorsk on Friday 5:30 kick-off in our push for the Champions League!
