The 23-year-old striker, who represented Everton at youth level and was an Under-23s regular before he was released in June last year, tweeted the unfortunate news yesterday.
Dyson had joined Plymouth Argyle but was unable to win a two-year battle with the ankle problem he originally sustained while he was still with Everton.

Learning the trade while still being around the football pitch would be an obvious way out.

He was in the under 18 group with Callum Connolly, Liam Walsh, Nathan Broadhead, Kieran Dowell, Kenny etc. Good group. As Steve said, it seemed as if he was a good player, but probably not quite at the premier league level. Really sad to see his career end so early.
