Those of you who missed the update in the General Forum last week will hopefully have noticed a small change in the look and layout of ToffeeWeb recently.

Unfortunately, the change resulted in a mysterious but significant uptick in bandwidth usage that has the site on target to massively surpass it’s monthly data transfer limit (which entail a penalty that is 200% my normal monthly charges).

I’ve never come close to that limit before so something must have been awry so I’ve reluctantly but temporarily rolled the changes back and will look to add elements back in in stages to see if I can isolate what has caused the problem.

Bear with me, folks!

13/10 update: I'm trialling the new design/layout on the homepage only to see if there is an uptick in the data transfer into the site. Fingers crossed there isn't...

22/10 update: And we've gone in one big circle, back to the old look after a minimalist interlude that didn't rectify the problem. Stay tuned for more shenanigans!

Could you try the split-half approach, Lyndon? Instead of adding back in individual elements one-by-one (if that's what you meant). Maybe IT-wise it's not as simple as I'm assuming - I'm not particularly IT-knowledgeable.

It's gone back to not being right on my A9.0 'phone, the bar at the top (articles, comments, rumours) disappears after opening another page.

Trevor #1, reminds of the time someone was looking for something (so long ago I can't remember what it was) and wailed "Why is it always in the last place you look?". Naturally, I queried why they would continue to look once they'd found the misplaced item... turns out it wasn't the only thing they'd lost

On IE Explorer now the page layout has gone haywire: giant photos text spreading past the margins of page. Looks fine on Chrome.

I like the new layout. I'd prefer a better font though!

Why has the main page reverted back to the original layout? Is it because TW was hijacked by some French shopping channel?

Good luck with it Lyndon. Thanks for all your efforts, much appreciated.
