Everton Under-23s gave up a late equaliser in a 2-2 draw at Brighton & Hove Albion in Premier League 2 on Friday evening. First-half strikes from Einar Iversen and Ellis Simms were not enough.
Iversen opened the scoring on 20 minutes with a clever finish and then provided a classy assist for Simms' eighth goal of the season. But a first-half penalty from Brighton skipper Teddy Jenks and 94th-minute long-range strike from Antef Tsoungui saw the hosts claim a battling point.
Everton U23s: Tyrer; John, Small [Y:37'] (56' Kouyate), Pennington, Ouzounidis, Astley, Iversen [Y:63'], Onyango, Simms, Baningime [Y:43'], Hughes (77' Anderson).
Subs not Used: Barrett, Hunt, Jagne.
