Almost one year to the day, Everton's owner Farhad Moshiri can reflect with satisfaction on Carlo Ancelotti's first 12 months after a 2-1 win over Arsenal put the Toffees an outstanding 2nd in the table.

It capped a superb week for Ancelotti and Everton after wins against Chelsea and now Arsenal at Goodison Park, flanking a midweek victory at Leicester City.

Undoubtedly Carlo has been great for the club and all of us Evertonians. He's given us our pride back and put us back on the football map, all in one year and there's more to come.

Thank you, Carlo.

Sorry, I'm not reading anything from the ultra-biased London-loving Sky ass-licking BBC.

Oh... wait a minute...

Its nice to see us up there. Little did l know as a 17 year old in 1987 that winning the league might not ever happen again.

Also refreshing beyond words is the fact that for once it looks like all the signings we made this summer have worked out. They all hit the ground running. When could we last say that? Have we ever?

Well... another huge week coming up. Then we might slag Carlo off again. Reverting back to playing on the front foot could be difficult without Allan and Digne. I mean, James looks up and what options will he have if Godfrey is too deep? We shall see on Wednesday

Leon Osman said it well on Sky this week; “Everton are a work in progress under Ancelotti, heading in the right direction”.

Don’t be disappointed if we’re not still second in April and try to remember where we were same time last year.

We’ve got 3 CL too class players in Digne, Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin and a couple of more players more than capable.

The key is retaining the top 3 if we don’t get at least into Europe next season, and the Europa Cup mightn’t suffice ! Lose them and it’s like starting again !
