Simms grabs a brace on league debut

Ellis Simms came off the bench for Blackpool with 20 minutes to go and scored two goals as the Seasiders thrashed Wigan 5-0 in League One.

The 20-year-old is loan at Blackpool from Everton for the remainder of the season and, having made his first ever senior appearance in the FA Cup defeat at Brighton last Saturday, he again came off the bench this evening, replacing Jerry Yates.

He converted from very close range in the 87th minute and then added another simple finish in stoppage time to round off the rout.

Both simple goals but you've got to be in the right place. The good news is that he is getting game time.

Your exactly right when you can make the most difficult thing to do in football look routine then you are footballs rarest and most treasured commodity... a natural goal scorer.

Great news for Ellis and Blackpool, he is proving he can score at many different levels, long may it continue, one we should really hang on to.

Maybe the easiest goals Ellis has ever scored in league football but in the right position both times.
Great start lad !

In 20 minutes he scored more goals than Tosun in 2 years.

Great start at The Tangerines for Ellis, made up for him, it’s early days, let’s hope this can be the making of him, and he kicks on, and can challenge the Everton squad for a place.
