Romero back on Everton's radar
Romero was seriously targeted by the Blues last summer as the club sought to sign a back-up keeper capable of providing competition for Jordan Pickford but Manchester United's asking price for a player entering the final year of his contract remained far too high.
Everton ended up signing Robin Olsen on loan from Roma and both Carlo Ancelotti and Marcel Brands are reportedly due to sit down this coming week to discuss the Swede's future, along with that of forward Josh King.
Juventus apparently want Romero as cover for Wojciech Szczesny while United will likely not exercise an extra year on the 34-year-old's contract so that they can get him off their books.

Just as well that Donnarumma didn't start with us. Is goalkeeper still the only position that a player can be signed at any time due to injury?

Romero can share the burden with Pickford over the course of a season, with Virginia getting the odd few games in the early rounds of the League and FA Cups.

There are many better (and younger) options out there if we're seriously looking for someone to compete with Pickford. Such as Napoli's Alex Meret (whom we are linked with).
A big NO to Szczesny as well!

It is only second choice so no major dramas, providing Pickford can keep his new found level of concentration for the full 96 minutes...

Someone needs to figure out:
1. Why our players shit themselves whenever theres anything at stake
2. Why our players lack determination, commitment and desire on a regular basis
Until these issues are resolved, Ill continue to feel like Big Nev during a half-time team talk

On his expiring contract at Old Trafford, Romero's being paid £70k/week, and that's way too much for a backup keeper. By contrast, Olsen is on only £19k/week.
