NBCSN on DirecTV for me, as per usual with the Prem.

I'm occasionally looking in on a comcast account access to NBCSN. But I'm at work so mostly just checking the MBM which unfortunately is an extension of social media it seems.

Sometimes you can get a surprise from promoted teams. I was at Goodison for the first game of 1977-1978 and Everton lost to Notts Forest 3-1. Back in those days it was a surprise if Everton lost at home to a promoted team. Newly promoted Forest went on to win the league that season and Everton finished 3rd. Brian Clough was a genius.

As I saw it. I thought Brentford ran around like headless chickens in the first 10 minutes. Doubt they will keep that intensity up fro this match let alone all season I thought at the time.

Then I saw Arsenal take control of the ball and the game. But they didn't do a lot with it. Sideways and backwards. They seem to have a really good outlet on their left side but don't or didn't have tonight anyone to exploit or execute. No end product; no finisher?

Well done Brentford. Fantastic story for all those supporters who have dreamed of this for years. This is what football is all about.

And a reminder that you can't predict football. Both the doomsayers and the foolish optimists like me.

Watched Brentford vs Arsenal on TV last night. Amazing what running, enthusiasm, fighting for every ball and a group of players who knows each other can do… They'll need a big squad to keep up that level of intensity throughout the season though. (And Arteta could be a good bet for first sacked manager)
