Mike @45, indeed. Lampard is our man. He started off playing, or trying to play, the type of football for which we all yearn. But then he got bitten and - a bit late - has cut back in order to survive.

But his instincts remain and we will recover Everton flair in due course. He's also a hard sort (as well as being a stupendous player). I was very pleased with his response to the FA charge: his first responsibility is to protect Everton. So it is.

We must stick with him and his team. I think we're going to gather trophies with him over the years.

Now that Watford are down, do we think they'll be playing without fear next week or without hope? Recent experience for us suggests the former, so I'd be happy with a point next week.
