Everton U18s draw at home with Blackburn Rovers
Saturday, 6 November, 2021Everton U18s 1 - 1 Blackburn Rovers U18s
Everton U18s came back to draw with a fine goal from Jenson Metcalfe after an early set-back had them chasing the game.
The Lancastrians are runaway leaders of the U18 Premier League (North), with a 6-point gap opening up at the top; Everton are up to 6th place, 8 points adrift with 8 games played.
The visitors were gifted an early lead after a clearance by Leban was blocked and Blackburn player found the net unguarded in the 8th minute.
Everton battled hard to get back into the game after that early setback and success came finally through a mistake by Blackburn trying to play out from the back and the excellent midfielder, Jenson Metcalfe, powered a wonderful finish over their keeper from a narrow angle to level it in the 73rd minute.
