Former Everton goalkeeper Andy Rankin, who played for the Blues in the 1960s and early 1970s, has died.
Born in Bootle, Andy made 105 appearances for the Toffees and wrote his name in club folklore when he became the first goalie to save a penalty in a European Cup penalty shootout, against Borussia Moenchengladbach in 1970.
His father Bruce and cousin George also played for Everton in the early 1900s and 1950s respectively.
Andy left Goodison in 1971 to join Watford and eventually retired in 1982.
