The Echo channel the bemusement and outrage on Everton Twitter with coverage of the almost complete omission of the Toffees from a video published to social media today by the Premier League promoting the final day of 2023-24.
The animated video features all 19 other clubs and their part in the story of the season but Everton’s only appearance is for the Garnacho overhead kick at Goodison Park and one of Cole Palmer’s goals for Chelsea in their 6-0 win at Stamford Bridge.
Of course, Everton’s greatest contribution to this campaign was the story of their triumph over the odds by overcoming two points deductions to retain their Premier League status, a fact that Richard Masters et al might not have wanted to highlight too much.
Still, you would have thought they could have found some way to shoehorn in an image or a goal from the longest-serving top-flight club in England…
