Disclaimer () Michael Kenrick 1 Posted 29/11/2024 at 20:31:49 Brighton finally make the breakthrough — clever header from Mitoma Michael Kenrick 2 Posted 29/11/2024 at 21:34:00 That was a nicely constructed second goal for Southampton, but eventually (after an age) ruled out. I just hate this use of VAR. Mark Murphy 3 Posted 29/11/2024 at 21:36:59 I dont care who it benefits or how many close decisions its “correcting” I hate it.Its fcuked football. Jim Bennings 4 Posted 29/11/2024 at 21:38:44 Worrying for us the teams below us look like they are beginning to find their feet this season.Saints are looking lively. Ian Jones 5 Posted 29/11/2024 at 21:40:22 Agree with you Michael. Took about 4 mins from the time goal scored to rule it offside. Not sure of the lines drawn were parallel so scorer looked onside. I thought he was off. Then decision given as Armstrong made a move towards the ball. The game is broken these days. Ian Jones 6 Posted 29/11/2024 at 21:50:21 In other news, Tom Davies scores his first goal for Sheffield United. Now there's a player to divide our fanbase :) Andy Meighan 7 Posted 29/11/2024 at 21:53:14 VAR is absolutely killing football, there was nothing wrong with Southampton's 2nd goal.Yes, it's happened to every side but Saints fans must be fuming at that, they should be ahead anyway. They are a far better footballing side than we'll ever be under Dyche. Yes they'll, probably go down, but they try to stick to their principles, ie, play football – not hoof it to the centre-forward.And Dyche will play exactly the same way on Sunday. Fred Quick 8 Posted 29/11/2024 at 22:18:05 Ian @6It was a good battling goal by Davies, plenty of determination shown and he managed to nick it past the keeper. As for the Saints disallowed goal, I was certain they were going to award it, when it took so long to look at it, all the time, from first viewing to the interminable wait ended, I thought the lad who scored was well off, but by the time they decided, I thought they'd convinced themselves and me that it was onside. Dan Parker 9 Posted 29/11/2024 at 23:09:00 Saints disallowed goal was karma for the one disallowed against Beto. It looked like a goal to me, weird thing is VAR showed a green line and goal but then replayed the cross a bunch of times and ruled it out. I couldn't hear the commentary in the pub but it looked like a goal, as was Beto's. VAR doesn't have the tech to have a straight line at the point of infraction so it's bollocks, marginally. Kevin Molloy 10 Posted 29/11/2024 at 23:12:42 So our best bets for relegation nearly got 4 points against Liverpool and Brighton! Hmm… and Wolves starting to play as well. this could be a very tricky month. Rob Halligan 11 Posted 29/11/2024 at 23:24:31 Dan, it was disallowed because Adam Armstrong, who was in an offside position, made an attempt to play the ball.It may even have brushed his foot as the ball went past him to Archer, who scored. Rightly disallowed. Paul Hewitt 12 Posted 30/11/2024 at 15:19:39 Wolves 3-1 down Rob Halligan 13 Posted 30/11/2024 at 15:27:04 Someone said the other day Wolves were beginning to look good, or something similar! 😂😂😂 Paul Hewitt 14 Posted 30/11/2024 at 15:28:03 Games not over yet Paul Hewitt 15 Posted 30/11/2024 at 15:31:23 Lesta losing. Come on Rob Halligan 16 Posted 30/11/2024 at 15:32:12 Games not over yet!! Nigel Scowen 17 Posted 30/11/2024 at 15:53:32 Another one for Brentford, need Forest to score against a worryingly resurgent Ipswich. Nigel Scowen 18 Posted 30/11/2024 at 16:08:09 1 nil Forest get in there Jim Bennings 19 Posted 30/11/2024 at 16:09:03 Imagine scoring goals like Bournemouth lol Paul Hewitt 20 Posted 30/11/2024 at 16:09:37 Results going our way Nigel Scowen 21 Posted 30/11/2024 at 16:10:26 Dont remind me Jim, still angry over that game. Paul Hewitt 22 Posted 30/11/2024 at 16:11:11 Lampards Coventry losing. Nigel Scowen 26 Posted 30/11/2024 at 16:17:38 Lets hope so Rob, Ive got a good feeling about tomorrow. Rob Halligan 27 Posted 30/11/2024 at 16:24:10 Leicester getting thumped 4-1. Nigel Scowen 31 Posted 30/11/2024 at 16:55:52 Last gasp equaliser for Palace. Joe McMahon 32 Posted 30/11/2024 at 17:03:51 Nigel, Plymouth are down to the bares bones due to injuries. But wrongly he may get sacked. Mike Gaynes 33 Posted 30/11/2024 at 17:24:36 Hell of a match right now at Wembley. USA vs. England, top two women's teams in the world, the return of Emma Hayes, and the retirement this week of IMO the greatest women's keeper ever, Alyssa Naeher. Nigel Scowen 34 Posted 30/11/2024 at 17:25:42 I know Joe but I also know a Plymouth fan whose second team is Liverpool and he never wastes an opportunity to rub my nose in it. Mike Gaynes 35 Posted 30/11/2024 at 17:29:57 Rob, Kluivert's hat-trick of penalties is the first in Premier League history. Joe McMahon 36 Posted 30/11/2024 at 17:34:39 Nigel, its bloody full of them down there. Even a coach that goes to Anfield. Rob Halligan 37 Posted 30/11/2024 at 17:35:34 Mike, we'll be lucky to get three penalties all season, never mind in one match! Rob Halligan 38 Posted 30/11/2024 at 17:40:57 Gabriel scores from a corner, again, for Arsenal. Mike Gaynes 39 Posted 30/11/2024 at 17:42:24 Rob, one's chances of getting a penalty called are somewhat limited if one never visits the box. Paul Hewitt 40 Posted 30/11/2024 at 17:46:29 Come on Everton we have a great chance of getting away from the bottom 3 in the next 2 games Rob Halligan 41 Posted 30/11/2024 at 17:46:59 A quick change of wording there, Mike! 😂😂 Mike Gaynes 42 Posted 30/11/2024 at 17:49:11 Sometimes very necessary, Rob, as you know. Unfortunately we don't have the same feature available verbally. Rob Halligan 43 Posted 30/11/2024 at 17:58:17 2-0 to Arsenal. This is a stroll in the park for them. Liam Mogan 44 Posted 30/11/2024 at 18:01:27 Odegaard is a superb footballer Brian Williams 45 Posted 30/11/2024 at 18:04:41 Never a penalty that. Rob Halligan 46 Posted 30/11/2024 at 18:04:50 3-0. Didnt Arsenal score six at West Ham last season? If so, they are well on their way to a repeat score. Mike Gaynes 47 Posted 30/11/2024 at 18:05:44 Kane off injured for Bayern at 32 minutes in Der Klassiker. Two Dortmund players already off injured as well. 1-0 Dortmund. Rob Halligan 48 Posted 30/11/2024 at 18:05:51 4-0. The stadium will be empty by half time. Bill Gall 49 Posted 30/11/2024 at 18:07:45 Do you think the Hammers will be looking for another manager,Moyes is available Paul Ferry 50 Posted 30/11/2024 at 18:08:43 dead loyal those 'ammers heading for the exits Paul Ferry 51 Posted 30/11/2024 at 18:09:23 back to back bissaka Nigel Scowen 52 Posted 30/11/2024 at 18:10:00 Same in Jersey Joe, where I live now, pity there isnt a coach that goes to Anfield from here full of them, straight into the Royal Blue sea. Rob Halligan 53 Posted 30/11/2024 at 18:10:21 4-2. Crazy game. I did mention 3rd and 4th Arsenal goals. 😀😀👍👍 Paul Ferry 65 Posted 30/11/2024 at 18:16:42 the next international break is 5 months, I think. It will do England good not to have Kane available, not that I really care Rob Halligan 66 Posted 30/11/2024 at 18:17:36 Another Arsenal penalty. Rob Halligan 67 Posted 30/11/2024 at 18:18:33 Fabianski flattened Gabriel with a left hook. Should be sent off? Brian Williams 68 Posted 30/11/2024 at 18:18:56 Pssst, Rob. Delay your posts m8. Brian Williams 88 Posted 30/11/2024 at 18:27:15 Mike I don't think weve seen 7 goals at Goodison this season. 🤣🤣😱 Brian Williams 89 Posted 30/11/2024 at 18:28:38 Rob I reckon I'm a minute behind, in more ways than one. 😛 Mike Gaynes 90 Posted 30/11/2024 at 18:29:25 PF Gittens has scored the goal in Der Klassiker. Brian Williams 95 Posted 30/11/2024 at 18:33:08 I hope not Paul. After we beat Manure anither three points midweek and we can breathe a tiny bit easier. Mike Gaynes 96 Posted 30/11/2024 at 18:33:42 Brian, if we do that I'll be hyperventilating. Paul Ferry 97 Posted 30/11/2024 at 18:34:40 He'll have a first cap in early summer Brian Williams 98 Posted 30/11/2024 at 18:35:13 Mike, me and you both brother. 👍 Nigel Scowen 99 Posted 30/11/2024 at 18:38:08 Bloody hell Paul I thought you were joking about Wolves having conceded 32 already Brian Williams 100 Posted 30/11/2024 at 18:41:23 35 after Wednesday. He will have everyone sitting back and hoping to sneak a win. This Man Utd team are garbage and, if we went at them, we would win. But sadly, Dyche won't do that. Paul Ferry 131 Posted 30/11/2024 at 20:12:17 Wigan is a much prettier and cooler place than St Helens. Mark Murphy 132 Posted 30/11/2024 at 20:12:18 “Doubly and MM” that's MY kind of woman, Paul.Just had a nice French Bordeaux Medoc (Chateau La Croix de Marbuzet) with a ribeye and fried egg. What you drinking? Brendan McLaughlin 133 Posted 30/11/2024 at 20:20:22 If we are talking wine:"Trois pour douze livres"Expensive but you get what you pay for. Paul Hewitt 134 Posted 30/11/2024 at 20:21:52 Says who, Paul? Fred Quick 135 Posted 30/11/2024 at 20:26:27 Ken Barnes, father of Peter Barnes, was the player who converted the hat-trick of penalties against Everton in December 1957, which prior to today was the last time it happened in a top-flight match. Dave Hickson was the Everton player who was sent off in the game. The defeat extended Everton's winless streak to ten. Manchester City 6 Everton 2 Everton's game against City at Manchester was just about the most fantastic match I have seen in a long coverage of football. Just look at what it contained. Eight goals, a player sent off, three penalty kicks, converted by the same player, a name taken, several warnings issued and a post-war record by another player. What more could you wish? Source: Liverpool EchoAs an aside, Goodison under the lights was not revered as much then as it is today. Everton are suffering from pylonitis – they have not won a Football League match home or away since they installed a floodlighting system on October 9 when they beat Liverpool in a friendly. The Everton pylonitis paralysis which set in from that moment is doubly vexing because, until they switched on for the first time, Everton had done practically everything right and were being spoken of as possible champions. Paul Ferry 136 Posted 30/11/2024 at 20:53:59 Nothing yet mate - it's 2:53 pm, but I have a lovely Washington State red blend for later and a smashing Joel Gott dry white. Brent Stephens 137 Posted 30/11/2024 at 20:58:02 Paul #130, "I'd love to be going into tomorrow game thinking we can win, but Dyche is so negative".Yes, don't ya just loathe negativity. Paul Ferry 138 Posted 30/11/2024 at 21:27:39 Smart work, Dr Stephens. Mark Murphy 139 Posted 30/11/2024 at 21:31:45 Paul – is that like 3 pm in the afternoon? If so, is it Friday or Saturday?Whichever, here in the UK I'd be up for a sneaky afternoon pint down the local…Bit early for plonk tho, I'll give you that!I'm just listening to your Bryan singing A Hard Rain. I love Saturday evenings when Everton haven't fucked my mood!Btw - if anyone fancies some chilled music with a bit of drop-dead gorgeous, check out Morgan James and Postmodern Jukebox, Maps by Maroon Five. We'll beat them fuckers tomorrow! UTFT Paul Hewitt 140 Posted 30/11/2024 at 21:34:04 I love attacking football more. Tony Abrahams 141 Posted 30/11/2024 at 21:41:40 That 7-inch sandwich sounds unreal,Paul, and brought back memories of being in New York and the absolutely brilliant deli shops.New York deli's versus London cafe's? Two of the greatest cities in the world, but there can only be one winner!!!! Nigel Scowen 142 Posted 30/11/2024 at 21:41:45 Mark I prefer listening to Loophole whilst drinking a good Valpolicella Ripasso. We will definitely do the Mancs tomorrow. Paul Hewitt 143 Posted 30/11/2024 at 21:46:29 Tony, London is a shit hole now. Even Londoners say it. Nigel Scowen 144 Posted 30/11/2024 at 21:50:15 Why do you say that, Paul, I love London. Paul Hewitt 145 Posted 30/11/2024 at 21:54:18 I work with a guy from London, even he says over the last 20 years it's got worse. Tony Abrahams 146 Posted 30/11/2024 at 21:55:53 I was speaking to a cockney lad before who had exactly those same sentiments, Paul.Rough as fuck, but then it always was once you got away from the tourist trap, but what history, and you can still find a few characters in those 700-year-old pubs!I've always loved London, and even though it's gone to the dogs, you simply can't beat an omelette with some jockey's – even though Paul's Reg Varnie, sounded fantastic! Paul Ferry 147 Posted 30/11/2024 at 23:47:47 The proof was in the eating, Tony. I left out that it was on rye. Good news, Marin, is that it's 5:44 here now and that red blend is breathing and in a glass at 6:00 and I've got the cricket on. Tony, omelettes are perfect in every situation. Just bought a new omelette pan, and it will be a sage, sausage, and caramelized onion omelette for lunch tomorrow after our points when an early drink is called for, Mark. It's so silly to speak of London in the singular. London is thousands and thousands of things. The Peckham Rye estate in New Cross or Woodbury Brown estate in Finchley Park are rather different to where I/we spend summer off the City Road in Islington, a couple of minutes walk to Angel and a minute from the canal. I love my London. Derek Knox 149 Posted 01/12/2024 at 02:37:12 Brendan @ 133, "Trois pour douze livres" Expensive? Is that for a pint? :-) Dave Abrahams 150 Posted 01/12/2024 at 11:40:19 Fred (135), Yes Dave Hickson got sent off, apparently Evertons captain said to the referee, after the fifth goal “ Ref.we need the white ball bringing on” because it was getting dark, Davie said “ Its not a white ball he needs its a white stick” ——they never used red cards those days but Davie was given his marching orders! Paul Ferry 151 Posted 01/12/2024 at 16:10:08 Dear God, city are all over the place at the moment. Jim Bennings 152 Posted 01/12/2024 at 16:17:26 The media will be going mental with their two horse race for this year. The Shite will have it won by February. Neil Lawson 153 Posted 01/12/2024 at 16:18:31 And the Redshite currently playing Shittee off the park. Can it get any worse? With Dyche the answer is yes. Dave Lynch 154 Posted 01/12/2024 at 17:00:12 I'm watching the Liverpool v City game in the hope city cheer me up a bit.But my god... if the other lot play like they are against us, it will be fucking carnage. Paul Ferry 155 Posted 01/12/2024 at 17:47:15 What a depressing day and it's not yet noon. Michael Lynch 156 Posted 01/12/2024 at 17:57:34 The only good thing is that Sky can't wank themselves silly about the greatest league in the world when it's a one horse race by Christmas. On the other hand, they'll be furiously rubbing themselves over whether the Shite can win the lot.I hate football. Colin Glassar 157 Posted 01/12/2024 at 17:59:45 The shite are head and shoulders above everyone else. At least I dont dislike slot as much as klopp, who was a complete bellend. Tom Bowers 158 Posted 01/12/2024 at 18:06:00 RS couldn't have played City at a better time.Yes there is a long way to go but RS have a wealth of strikers to win any game and I cannot see any other team getting to them even Arsenal who's defense is a little suspect.RS have a wealth of strength in depth so that it's no problem when players are missing through injury. It helps being wealthy just ask Trump!!I, like all Evertonians would love an early Christmas present in the shape of three points against RS but those kind of miracles don't happen to the Blues. Still, we can but hope. Charles Ward 159 Posted 01/12/2024 at 18:13:23 Problem is Tom we had our wealth and pissed it up the Wall. The RS were in a similar fix with the Texan bloke and his mate but the financial crash got rid of them. Paul Ferry 160 Posted 01/12/2024 at 18:30:22 It's too early to call that Colin. Slotty looks like The Hood, is clearly evil although I haven't had a good look at his teeth yet - just wait until he starts his knobhead stuff with the turds in the Kop. Kim Vivian 161 Posted 01/12/2024 at 18:43:55 To be honest, I pay little heed to them seeing as we are on different planets these days, but I only just realised the RS are 9 points clear at the frigging top of the league!Jeez wept, how bad can it get? Alan McGuffog 162 Posted 01/12/2024 at 18:52:38 Colin I agree. They are on course to win the lot this season. It's taken me over 60 years but I've got them out of my system. I don't care who wins what anymore as I know it won't be us. If it's them, we'll, so be it.What brings me a modicum of pleasure is that it will be under the leadership of Slot, a man I have no opinion of. And that the gurning Kraut will have his colon in a twist thinking " it coulda been me". Even now you can't get him off the back pages. Tony Abrahams 163 Posted 01/12/2024 at 18:53:53 Look at the Cloggies that Everton have had, and then look at the ones across the park. Dirk Kuyt, wasnt very good but he worked his fucking trips out to become a success at Liverpool, whilst Drenta had all the talent in the world but didnt give a fuck.Shandy ended up getting rid of his wife for a lap dancer and snorting loads of Charlie, and Koeman, ended up being the ultimate unmitigated disaster, and was another who didnt really care about our club.Everton havent really been genuinely professional, with a real winning ambition, for a long time now, and this more than anything else is what Im hoping the Friedkins can bring to our once great club, and begin to resurrect us. Charles Ward 164 Posted 02/12/2024 at 12:54:10 Tony the one thing that summed up the Kenwright era was him appointing a schoolmarm with no commercial experience as CEO whereas around the same time the RS appointed Peter Moore a hard-nosed businessman with experience in sportswear and computer games.Whilst he was there, they won the Premier League and the Champions League.Whereas Li'l Miss Sunshine? oversaw a disgusting decline in our fortunes.Hopefully TFG are looking for a CEO with grit.
