Norwich City U21s 2 - 1 Everton U21s

Everton U21s suffered a narrow loss to Norwich City U21s at Carrow Road Premier League 2 on Friday evening.

The home side had taken the lead before Justin Clarke scored a fine individual goal just before half-time but a missed penalty in the second half took the gloss off things.

The Canaries had gone after an unstoppable shot beat George Pickford. But, with half-time approaching,  Justin Clarke, in celebration of his recent contract signing, collected the ball wide left and cut infield, evading defenders to finish accurately past the keeper.

But the second half had barely started when the young Blues were behind again. Later, the advancing Issac Heath was chopped down for a penalty.  Braiden Graham struck his spot kick well enough, but the keeper made a superb save.

Everton U21s: Pickford, Finney, Thomas (81' Bates), Tamen, Campbell, J Patterson [Y], Heath, Gomez (80' Samuels-Smith), Morgan (39' Beaumont-Clark), Graham, Clarke (70' Benjamin [Y]).

Subs not Used: Patrick.
