For anyone left who might be inclined to dig a little deeper into the legal morass the Premier League created when their Independent Commission gave credence to the narrowest of margins in probabilistic modelling that granted Burnley £26M in compensation (plus interest) at Everton's expense, Stefan Borson has been authoring a series of short articles published last month on his Substack that are well worth reading:

The parachute payment should be deducted from our £35 million.
Although Borson's argument is that the payment is a further sanction for the wrongdoing.

What I find difficult to understand is what most clubs thought they would benefit by such rules rather than being stand alone entities, have there really been that many Bury's saved from themselves?
It most certainly hasn't introduced a level playing field and, if inflation in everyday life was roaring along as it is in the Premier League transfer market, then we'd be appointing two Prime Ministers at once to save time.
Pity football clubs don't have as much difficulty moving money out of the country as I have trying to move a little in...
