Nathan Patteron looks set to be another name heading for the Everton exit door on deadline day.
The rarely used Scottish right-back is set to undergo a medical at Serie A side Torino, reports The Bobble. According to the update, Torino are 'advancing in talks to sign Nathan Patterson on a permanent transfer'.
The 24-year-old has struggled for favour and fitness since signing from Rangers in an £11m deal in January 2022 and was overlooked last season despite Everton's lack of a recognised right-back.
Patterson played only 240 minutes of Premier League football in 2025/26 and is now set to leave Hill Dickinson in search of regular football.
There is no mention of a potential fee, though it will be a permanent transfer for the 29-cap Scotland international, whose contract is due to expire in 2027. Should the deal go through before tonight's deadline, Patterson is set to become the third Scotsman to represent the Italian side, after Denis Law and Che Adams.
Patterson's imminent exit comes as Everton also negotiate the departures of Iliman Ndiaye to Manchester City and Tim Iroegbunam to Hull for combined fees of £87m including add-ons. Everton have agreed deals to sign Folarin Balogun and Jack Grealish, while talks are ongoing for Fulham full-back Kenny Tete.

Re: Paul's comment, the neglect in the recruitment department at this club is criminal. How the squad can be so unbalaced at this stage is shocking.
I've said it before: when the transfer window opened, the first player through the door should have been a right back; there are no excuses; we've had 2 years, ffs. Now we have an injury-prone journeyman (potentially) and no cover at left back.
And while I'm having a rant, WHY do we still wait till the last day to do any significant business? When will we move on from this amateur business model.

It is laughable that in a window where there have been numerous right backs moving around, we cannot sign a single one, and the one that we are apparently after can't get a game at a mid table club. World. Class.

Many of our so called Everton supporters just talk about fullbacks and the lack of them at Everton.
Start looking around, if anybody thinks the Reds have good fullbacks, they need there heads examining, at present they are piss poor and have spent a fortune on them. Good recruitment ??
Man City are playing midfielders and centre backs at fullback
Arsenal are only playing one fullback, the others are centre backs.
Man Utd. again are short of a regular fullback.
You can go on and look at a lot of the teams
The fullbacks of yesteryear are no longer around, the game has changed.

Tete deal not done until Fulham get a replacement, I really hope we have Fullbacks incoming from elsewhere.

I think that's a question we ask every year, why wait so late in the window to get the deals done. I think its very much a case of agents and players maximising their opportunities. Yesterday it looked like Ndaiye was going to Spurs and Richarlison coming back to Everton as it happens looks like neither of those are going to happen. Probably Gapko were Citys main target and they thought with Liverpool signing Barcola Liverpool would be prepared to sell Gapko but that didnt happen so City moved for Ndaiye.
I dare say there will be many twists and turns before 11.00pm, seems we cant sign Tete till Fulhame get a replacement in and they have only hours left to do that, I would imagine Kinnear is praying this happens as he promised we would have a right back in before the window closes, mind if Fulham are struggling we might go somewhere else.

Used to think it was more difficult finding a natural left footed player than a right footed player, and as we have only been waiting for 2 seasons for a right back that this would be reasonably easy to find one
Today the last day of the transfer window it seems we have still not signed anyone definitely yet, as the player we are after may not be available if certain movements are not completed else ware. Does not make sense to me , otherwise the transfer window gains and losses seem except-able. But its no use scoring if you are weak at the back.

Apparently our first choice right back was maitland niles or the fax has only just got through.

I think Patterson has been treated badly, 29 caps for Scotland and he has been deemed not good enough to play for us, even when we are crying out for a right back.
OK, you can argue that you don't have to be a world beater to play for Scotland but I'm not having it he's a hopeless player. I would guess he is indisciplined, poor trainer or something else that's pissed off the managers. Or has he been deemed simply not good enough, he's seemed OK to me what little I've seen. It's always seemed like a strange affair to me.
It sounds like he's leaving so it's an irrelevant argument anyway.

Reading between the lines, it sounds like he’s a bit thick!. Randomly shouting things out,like, “Crisps!”, and thinking that’s funny.
He looks overweight for a professional footballer too, a bit soft with a carb face. He should be able to sort that out and there could be a salvageable player in there somewhere.
