Hey guys, i stumbled upon this piece while researching on the fanbase of us. It begins:
According to new statistics produced, Liverpool are the most supported Premier League team on Facebook – which seems to have truly ticked off our city rivals Everton...OMG, please do something about it. COYB.
Anyway, we are also lagging behind Aston Villa and far behind Tottenham, of course it's just an online thing and not all fans will have thought of this way of supporting the team... but still, this can be said of all fans of all clubs, so it still holds some credibility.
Man Utd's fan base is app in arently 300,000 — far behind the rest of the big four's — which in reality is impossible and even the opposite.
As I do not live England therefore not having a close up check on our fanbase relative to others, just wish to ask how are we doing?

It makes me laugh the RS fans have nothing better to do though! For years now, they have been trying to convince us that Man Utd are their biggest rivals - not us. Somehow i have never believed them. You can run from the past, but never hide.

As an exiled Scouser who's been here for over 6 years now, I was pleasantly surprised to find a supporters club when I moved here 6 years ago. A good mix of locals and a few exiles like myself.
Sure, there's loads more of the Sky 4 team shirt wearers around, but given the total biased broadcasting of ESPN STAR Sports (same as Sky) you'd expect that.
We've had some good "results" with it too.
- The pre-season tourney in Bangkok in 2005. Of no use to the team, but some stayed in the same hotel, saw the Barton incident. Meeting the Thai supporters was great.
- Getting Tim Cahill down for an evening in 2007 when the Aussie squad were on a 10 day training camp. Top, top fella.
- Chang sponsoring a load of buses with images of our players (admittedly why they chose Beattie - we'd got rid within a month!)
- Getting 8 of us on Football Crazy for an hour and being told by the producer afterwards we were the best group they'd ever had. (Notice how they stopped bringing fans of the week on after that - "top that lot"!)
- Chang sponsoring the FA Cup final viewing for us. Bottles galore of the stuff to dull the pain, and I taught a few about the art of the pilfer - I mean the venue didn't really want to keep Chang/Everton beer buckets and towels anyway did they?
- "Away" fans coming to our pub for games as they'd heard we have a better laugh!
Admittedly we don't get together as much - a big part of that is beer is so frigging expensive (can be over five quid a pint!), but if someone can find a good watering hole, lets see who's still around for one of the games prior to season end.

We don't really have that kind of fan, certainly not in any large numbers, as we've never been quite the fashionable entity that they are or were. I'd say your facebook numbers mean very little Jack, and well done for being an Everton fan in Singapore, where I bet your surrounded by reds and Mancs at every turn.
