Is it A or B?

is it just me or is anybody else having this feeling ? We play City on Wednesday and I'm thinking, (A) I want us to win... but (B), if City win, it helps to keep Liverpool out of 4th spot.
I think City have the best chance of finishing 4th. Spurs have too many tough games... and Villa will implode any game soon!

Tony -
Jeezuz man! If we win we're only 2 points back of 6th with a relatively cushy run-in.
Win man, win! Cmon!
&^#(* !!!!!
Couldn't give a monkies if the Shite get 4th or any other side for that matter. I could never hope for an Everton loss under any scenario.
Always win for me.
Or (C) We win, they lose and we're only 3pts behind the bastards.

Answer: (A).
It's between City and Spurs now for 4th, so us beating City would not benefit the RS, only Spurs. The battle for 6th, however, which is now between the RS, Villa and us is about to get very interesting indeed. That's the way I see it.
Win. Handsomely if possible. It puts pressure on everyone around us.
Right you are Liam, it's always an Everton win first! Anything else is secondary, especially what that lot does.
I see where you're coming from and if we had less points it might be more valid. But yes aside from Everton having a spectacular end to the season and making Europe and am looking very forward to the idea of Liverpool not being in the Champions League.
A win on wednesday puts us 3 points behind Liverpool yet some Evertonians are still more interested in the RS not qualifiying for next season's Champions League.
Unbelievable.
I want us to stuff Man City right in front of their horrible fans.
I'm with Ste here. Always a win.
Always, always a win. Finishing above Liverpool this season means we'll probably finish 6th. Which is what is known as a win - win scenario ! The next few weeks are critical; Man Sitteh and Villa away with the Hammers sandwiched in the middle. 6 or 7 points out of those fixtures and you have to start to believe we can do it.
I want us to finish above the RS. If they can drop a few more points like they did at Wigan and we start winning away as we are at home. Very Possible!
I understand completely what you are thinking, but wouldn't it be MUCH better if we got in front of Liverpool. A win puts us 3 points off doing that.
How any Everton fan can not want us to win is a joke.
A win at City would be fantastic... who cares where ANY other side finishes in the league??
It's a pity we had so many injuries to key players otherwise we may well have been in the shake up for a top place and also still been in the Europa Cup and FA cup.
I'm not too bothered about making next season's Europa Cup and would love us to win the FA Cup.
Win for me - no question.
You don't watch Everton thinking about Liverpool.
There has never been a second, not even a millisecond in my life that I've wanted Everton to lose, sorry bout that I'm genetically programmed that way. If Spurs get 4th good luck to them, thy've got to play Arsenal, Man U and I think Chelsea, Whereas Citteh, have got to play Man U, Arsenal, oh and Us, and each other. But I don't give a flying bollock where other teams end up, and final point; there's 24-30 pts to play for in the race for a European place, and this is a weird season anything can happen
Gareth Humphreys: "You don't watch Everton thinking about Liverpool. "
So...you're "in bed" with yer missus...and you NEVER think about any other bird?
Lighten up lads.I know what Tony means but I want us to win every match.
Tony Williams I am sorry but GET A GRIP! I would never ever EVER want Everton to draw or lose. Also I don't give a fly about them over the park. I can't believe I don't speak for you too!
Nope, it's a win for us every game. I must admit I do look for the redshite score when we have won and have a wry smile if they haven't won.
If anyone was to knock them out of 4th I would prefer it to be Citteh, can't stand Spuds or Villa, absolutely hate O'Neill.
Strange posting a response to myself per se!
Personally I think Man City finishing 4th is the worst possibility for us and all the other sides around us.
If they finish 4th they will then be able to attract any player they want. The likes of Kaka would have signed had they been able to offer CL football. Its difficult to see that 4th spot coming available again any time soon should City get it as they would throw millions into player recruitment.
As such I want us to stuff City on Wednesday.
Odds for tomorrow night:-
City - 1.90
EFC - 4.20
Draw - 3.40
Would love a win but I'd be happy with a draw.
I know I hate the RS with a passion but I'd never go as far as wanting us to lose just to fcuk their season up further. Mind You !
Too be honest we've got to win because my Mrs was a City fan and can't stand them since they've aquired their new wealth. She's become an Evertonian since, after the arrogant way they conducted themselves during the Lescott saga. So I really really hope we stuff them otherwise I'll get it in the neck from her family if we lose.
If we don't get anything out of tomorrow night's game, then it will take 1% of the dissapointment away - knowing that it'll do no favours to the RS.
I'm hoping for a good performance, and 3 points. Even if they do scrape 4th, we can feel confident that we're on the up, and they're on the way down.
Cut the bollox out - it's Everton to win EVERY time, EVERY game.
Win and win till we overtake them.
I can never look or hope for an Everton defeat, but I must admit when Manure beat us at Old Trafford last season I wasn't quite as disappointed as I otherwise might have been! If I remember right it meant Utd stretched their lead over the RS to four points at the time.
Must win tomorrow though.
Everton win every time no matter what other consequence.
On a slightly different matter, will anyone be happy(ish) to see manure beat the redshites 18 titles this year? Hate the lot of them to be honest but I'm warming to this scenario.
Always win? Are you sure? There's 5 mins to go in the season, we are a goal up. We started the match 4 points below the side above us and 4 points above the team below us, our opponents need a point to deny the Dark Side the title and are a goal down. Are you lot seriously telling me an equalising goal would be a big disappointment?

Tony, I know where you are coming from but I'm going for A. An Everton win - simply because I don't want to see us lose and for the Lescott deal.
RS are that 'S' under the wonderful rafa (!) that they won't finish fourth anyway.
Win for us not really bothered about any other team, I guess would be some sort of sweetener if we did lose that it hurt them, but for me win and catch them instead. Funnily enough I asked an RS mate about the Chelsea game and Utd. He said he would rather lose and finish 5th if it meant it stopped Utd getting a 19th title and they call us bitter....
I adore the RS misery. Take an example of RS about to be relegated if a "x" team beats us and we are mid table and nothing to play for, I would definitely want us to lose. Sorry but there you go.
Saying that, I prefer for us to beat City even if it has a knock on positive effect for RS. I think we have a slim chance of making Europe and the RS could conceivably finish below us (we'll be 3 points behind if we win on Wed on same games played). A big ask as City are unbeaten at home in league this season.
Most stupid question in the history of stupid questions.
A.
If we win all remaining games, and it's at least a possibility, then season may not yet be over. Spurs have to play the top 3, L'pool have Chelsea to play and some very pissed off players. If we beat City and Villa then our season still alive.
Just like to point out that the TW table is wrong. If we won we'd still be 5 points behing city and 3 behind the shite (assuming they loose).
Doesnt really change things though. I still want us to win the league. lol.
Also, Both the shite and villa are playing Sunderland next. So here's hoping that sunderland have a good week!
Unbelievable!!
Some of my closest friends are red shite (for my sins) and I get so annoyed when they claim that Evertonians are more happy when Liverpool lose than when Everton win and ridiculous posts like this almost justifies their self importance! Whilst I admit I enjoy seeing them lose I really couldn't care less where they finish. My priorities are Everton, Everton, Everton.
For example:
I would rather we finish 4th and they win the bloody league rather than we finish 5th and they finish below us.
They are not important!
The league is a marathon not a sprint and teams usually finish where they deserve to.
Therefore a win for us tomorrow is essential to us going for a European spot let alone 4th.
Could never envisage wanting us to lose. It's just not in our (Evertonian)sporting nature......On the other hand if a loss meant the RS getting relegated?..... I wonder?
Winning at City would be difficult especially as they have something to go for and we need a miracle to finish much higher than we are. We have blown too many games this season and sometimes after a good result we have come out and been abysmal in the next game. However, we have generally played City and done well away from Goodison and hopefully we get a result tomorrow. I suppose whilst we still have a mathematical chance of Europa again Moyes will go with experience but please keep Osman as a sub.
For me its a win or bust in terms of a european place
The balloon will go up across the park should Sunderland win. hee, hee.
There ought to be a special section for people who hate Liverpool more than they love Everton. You can't really call them Everton supporters because thatr's their second interest.
I've never bothered much about LFC any more than I would about - I don't know - Arsenal, say. I've despised Arsenal sometimes, admired them at other times. Same with Liverpool, though there's little or nothing to admire about them now.
Shall we concentrate on Everton now?
The RS winning the league would be my worst nightmare - they're smug bastards most of the time. Imagine them winning the league - how bad would it be. Arise Sir Ste G, and all the media would be out proclaiming this and that about the RS. God it would be horrible, I think I'd have to emigrate somewhere away from all the shite - to another another planet maybe!
I look at our current team and theirs and I feel pretty good about this season, its panning out pretty much as I'd expected it to be.
No its definitely a win win thing for me with Everton. Unless I knew that the RS needed us to win to keep them in the league. Then I'd definitely have to do a bit Spurs-style sabotage in the Everton canteen!
What a silly, silly question. Does not deserve a response... Apart from to tell you how silly it is!
Ray Roche - you have lost me their kiddo. Don't see the parallell.
Yes the correct answer is A and what a brilliant result at city. Well worth getting up at 02:45 to watch it !!!
who is that imposter Tony Williams pretending to be Tony Williams ? ;o)
