VIP guest thrown out at Eastlands

Firstly what twats Man City execs, players (Bellamy and Lescott and other money-grabbing gimps) and fans seem to be.

But who is George Downing? Toffeweb news mentions he is a muti-millionaire everton fan.

Is he multi-millionaire enough to invest? Or is he already an investor?

he's a well known businessman who makes his money doing property deals. He has supported efc all his life and is well known within the club and with players.

Unfortuately, I don't think he's the answer to all our prayers, i.e. an evertonian who will blindly plough all his dough into us !

Downing a key Everton player

George Downing is Liverpool’s largest commercial landlord, who from humble beginnings in student housing has built up a massive portfolio in the last 20 years, specialising in transforming derelict or run-down buildings.

He was voted Merseyside’s Businessperson of the year in 2007 in recognition of his investment in the commercial sector.

His companies own a major part of the city’s office space, including the Port of Liverpool Building, the Capital Building on the Pier Head and the Chamber of Commerce’s HQ.

Despite his success, he has always shied away from publicity, saying last year: “I keep a low profile and have never sought publicity for what we’ve achieved.”

A couple of lads I know were kicked out of the Gwladys Street for standing for a short spell at the back of the Gwladys Street and were starting off songs.

However they're not rich so it's not newsworthy.

"Bellamy is a prize dick".

Amen brother!

But some people seem to think he is a reformed man simply because he didnt kneecap Felaini for that!

Turns out he just hates Mancini!

I agree, lay off the horrible, Welsh kopite twat. We should give Bellamy a Goodison welcome a la Paolo Di Canio next time.

The spontaneity of Goodison clapping Jimmy Bullard off the pitch (fair play to the lad, injured and all) inspired him to go and twat Judas Barmby the week later in the park.

The love you take is equal to the love you make!

Maybe the redevelopment of Goodison is now Plan A.

I wasn't aware of the Bellamy incident until I read this thread which made me look it up on the net. It seems as if he may have suggested that Moyes should have been (perhaps, shall we say) a little more aggressive with Mancini!

Now this may surprise some people but I like Bellamy and while I appreciate he has a tendency to upset people, including his own teammates, I think a good manager could handle that and turn it to his advantage.

If he wants a move (we know he doesn't like Mancini) I wouldn't turn my nose up at him coming to us (if we could afford it!) He could be our new Johnny Morrissey!

I know he can be an aggravating little bastard but he can't be all that bad if he tried to annul a few Liverpool players with a golf club can he? He is a very good player and his reaction to being made to look like a tit by Felli the other week was pure class, too much class for shiteeh!

I like him. I reckon most of his mouthing is just having a laugh with opponents. What age is he? Very injury prone though.

Two quick points to make:

The first,is that this Downing character was clearly out of order. You don't travel to an away game, sit with the home fans & join in an Everton song. It's just bad manners, traditionally enough to get your head kicked in. The fact that he happens to be a millionaire doesn't give him carte blanche to upset the locals.

Second point: Bellamy' is brilliant.Period. There are way too many dull, soulless, monotone types out there who never say anything of interest to anyone. The game needs more characters like him !!

Downing joined in on the song "2-0 an we spent fuck all...". As for Bellamy, class act, i'd have him at us every day of the week, and apparently the tunnel fracas after the game on wednesday involving him was because he shouted something in favour of David Moyes. Apparently along the lines of Moyes should have sparked him, and his teamates turned on him. Good on ya, Crags lad, an come an play for us next season!
