Heard a strange rumour today. Apparently Everton are in such financial trouble that they are having problems paying players' wages. Could be why the team seem so unsettled...

"Having problems paying players' wages"?

I can understand this as I too would have huge problems paying their wages.

"Here you go Mikel, here's this weeks cheque for seventy thousand nicker (goes to hand it over, then pulls it back and rips it to shreds) fuck, I just can't do it!!"

Hi Ken. Here's a suggestion: if you think the source of these rumours is reliable, send the details in confidence to Lyndon and Michael and let them make an assessment which they can then endorse, without revealing the source. Or not, of course!

Of course, one other reason why the team is unsettled could be because we are playing one-dimensional football, slow build up every time, played out to the wings for a high cross to be lobbed in with the hope of somebody getting a head on the end of it, but since we are so slow, the opposing defence just heads it away... etc etc

I think our finances are a lot worse than we are led to believe, how can there be any other explanation of a £1m summer transfer kitty? (although we must have that £78M Kirkby money tucked away in the drawer somewhere). However I don't believe we can't pay the wages.......not just yet anyway.

Stephen, no, we're gonna sign Tommy from Goodfellas as a midfield general! Believe me not a lot of opposition will argue with him.

Chris (15) I think you'll agree that if anyone of our friends on this site have never seen "Goodfellas" then they need to see it and soon.

I really envy anyone who have never seen this film. The first time is just so off the planet.

Eugene, the only thing I can think of is that you are distracted by a really great bogey that you are trying to extract and dont realise how many left hand clicks you are giving your mouse.

Ken is right, Mikel downed his tools today and never turned up at Everton 2 for a signing session, Moyes's filled in.

I also saw Victor signing on for benefits, on the basis that he going to be at least £10k short next year than he wanted.

Baines, Heitinga and Jagielka are also moving on as they will be short.

But don't worry: Hibbert, Vaughan, Yobo and Ossie will all be available shortly.

Right i'm off. It's tea time. Having tea with Julian Assange. I will of course inform him that he needs to buy the whole of Barcelona and import to Goodison in the form of a wave file.

Me an Jules we go back a long way.
