A good six weeks ago Ste and I visited Goodison Park to look at some new seats for the upcoming season. Whilst the staff were friendly and helpful, I found their process for providing new seats rather confusing. Rather than just process this for us, they had to reserve our seats under my name and instructed us to wait for our tickets to arrive through the post, and then once they arrive to come back to the Box Office to get them changed… made no sense to me either.

Whilst Ste and Gary’s tickets arrived in good time, mine didn’t arrive until last weekend (the reason being that I’d paid by Direct Debit rather than up front) whilst I was holidaying in the Costa Del Sol for Malaga vs Everton. So, as last-minute as ever, I travelled to Goodison Park yesterday (Saturday) to get these tickets swapped to our new seats.

Paul Traill’s season ticket confirmation

The journey there was FUN. Jumping on the bus and the chirpy driver was a Blue and we, and a fellow other passenger spent petty much the whole journey chatting all things Everton… I was almost disappointed when I arrived at Hamilton Square and had to get off the bus. At Hamilton Square, straight down the elevator and the train was waiting… changing at Moorfields, straight up the escalator and the train was waiting. On to Goodison and after a short queue I was at the window.

The staff, though initially confused with how to process my request, were helpful and after around 20 minutes I was gleefully on my way with our new season tickets in our great new seats. On to County Road and a bus arrived straight away into town, and whilst I waited in the pub for my better half and her folks who are visiting for the weekend, I checked my Twitter. Everton look all set to sign Marillas (I’m still convinced there’ll be a snag somewhere)...

I check my emails and just to make things better I see an email from ‘boxoffice@evertonfc.com’ Subject: Ticket Transfer 2477261. Things were going great, then just imagine how my jaw dropped upon opening and reading the below email:

So I’ve now successfully transferred my seat with Liverpool Football Club! Quite unbelievable that Everton could make a gaff like this. No harm done I know and I’m sure it’s a situation whereas the season card handling procedure is completed by a company which operates for both clubs, but come on Everton…how badly do you want to get this wrong?

I just thought this may bring a little humor to all of us excitedly waiting news of signing(s) and of course, Monday night’s big match. After all that’s said and done, I now can’t wait to be sat in my new seat for tomorrow night’s big game at Goodison Park.

Oh, and judging on yesterday’s performance… it’s just as well I don’t have a season ticket across the park!

Much like my ForEverton Membership saga! Ordered 23 July: if not received in 14 days contact box office. When I did the reply was "we are still waiting for them"... to this date, still nothing received.

Are you sure you got a ticket for the right club though?

If you can't get in tonight you'll have to go to Analfield this coming Saturday!!!

I think you will be sitting in the same block as me. If so enjoy that complete tosser who shouts opposing keepers names. Funny at first but it's got a bit stale now.
