At the end of the season, Sir Alex Ferguson resigns... and, within a matter of days, David Moyes is announced as their new Manager.

Manchester City sack Roberto Mancini and, although it takes a week or so to announce it, it’s clear Pellegrini was lined up before Mancini was sacked.

David Moyes tells Everton around Christmas time that he will not consider signing a new contract until the end of the season. The season ends and Moyes becomes manager of Manchester United. Bill Kenwright, having had almost 5 months notice, announces that Everton “will not be taking a quick decision, we will be taking time.” So much for a Plan B!

Why do I have a real sense of unease about this business of “taking time”? Is it because, other that BK’s decision to appoint Moyes, he has delivered on little else at Everton! That may have something to do with it. But my real concern is his desire to go through a process that doesn’t seem to feature in the procedures followed by most other clubs — in particular, the top 5. It seems they operate with a focus, determination and speed which, when it comes to picking managers, is distinctly lacking at Everton.

My concern (and please let me be wrong) is that, when the Manager is eventually announced, most of us will, to say the least, be very unhappy. I say this because I fear that this carefully considered process will enable BK to say something like “we listened to what every candidate had to say and the ideas and vision for Everton Football Club put forward by Mr Whoever, impressed so much that he virtually chose himself.”

In fact, most of us know that the Number One criterion for selecting a Premier League manager is his track record. Okay... there are the other usual considerations: for example, that he’s not a wife-beater or hasn’t got the personality Heinrich Himmler. But, subject to obvious personality disorders, the track record is paramount!

For my money, that rules out an internal candidate. While I would happily have any of the internal candidates in supporting roles, I cannot possibly see how a club which finishes 6th in what is supposedly the best league in the world could even consider someone who has never managed before. I also feel it is pretty disingenuous of Moyes and other key figures around Everton to be suggesting people who have no management experience. Let them go out and prove themselves at other clubs; then, at some future date – if you’ve proved you can hack it – we will welcome you back!

That leads me nicely to Phil Neville. Phil has been a great captain and leader both on and off the pitch but it really would be inanity in the extreme for a club like Everton to appoint what would virtually be a trainee manager. Two months ago, Phil was looking to extend his playing career. Now... apparently the last 5 years have been leading up to this role.

To dispel any myths about the precedent of successful in-house people, both Howard Kendal and Joe Royle had considerable managerial experience with other clubs before they landed their jobs at Everton. Likewise, there are a number of precedents for great team captains not being able to cut the mustard as managers: Brian Robson and Roy Keane immediately spring to mind. The above points against appointment apply equally to David Weir and Alan Stubbs, both of whom we all (as Evertonians) admire.

We will probably never get 100% supporter agreement on who we want as the next Everton manager. Personally I favour Pereira but would also be happy with Laudrup. I suppose what I really want now at Everton is a foreign coach who has chalked up some degree of success. However, as it says in the title of this article, I have a growing unease that what most of us want isn’t going to happen.

Please, Bill – make me eat my words!

BK has made the club Utd's bitch, paying their new manager a wage for nothing, he'll not stand in the way if and when Moyes comes back for Everton employees (please note NOT his staff but Everton's), are we waiting for the nod from them as to who and when we should take as a new manager too?

BK sickens me at the best of times with his antics and failures, this is another new low but listen carefully and you'll hear the tell tale warble of the lesser spotted excuse merchant in the distance getting closer and closer to share their wisdom, wit and most importantly excuses galore.

Word is that it's Lumsden and Woods going to OT – and don`t take much notice of Davey not coming back for our players. He seems to have free licence to do what he wants in his last two months on the payroll. No doubt another "gentleman's agreement" with BK!

Very disappointing behaviour by someone I admired. But who is it that's letting him get away with it? Our one-man Board.

Moyes can do what he wants, to my mind he's no longer our manager regardless of who is paying him right now. If he wants to come for staff or players he can do his worst, he just has to pay the going rate. No favours.

And let's be fair, there's a reason why we don't have a manager yet and it's that, unlike Utd, we were hoping ours would stay. And, unlike City, we can't offer a massive budget and CL football. I'm sure someone has been eyeing up prospective candidates but its a big decision which may have payments in the millions attached to it - take all the time you need.

Our one man board is right Doddy, but who exactly IS that one man, are you really really really sure it is boys pen bill? he might own 25% of the shares, but who owns him.

Mind you Bill not having the final say may or may not be blessing in disguise.

Lumsden and Wood potential lose worry me not one jot

Sid, wife beater, bishop beater, I don't really care so long as he's a RS beater and a Manc beater, infact beats the shite out of all and sundry in the Prem.

As you say Moyes and we presume here, BPB knew at Christmas. We can infer that Neville didn't but was one of the first to know, hence his change from keeping on playing.

As is usual from Everton ( who brought you KD, Fortress, DK, Pipe lagging-gate, Park End Wall-gate etc etc ) this whole thing has fiasco / slow motion train wreck written all over it.

As other posts have mentioned, I don't think we will all agree with the new appointment. I remember the initial appointment of Kendall in 1981 and feeling underwhelmed ditto Royle in 1994, how wrong I was on both counts. I also remember feeling genuinely optimistic with the arrivals of Walker and Smith! If I could have my wish it would be to avoid at all costs Martinez and any internal appointment. I don't have much faith in Kenwright, simply because he hasnt got much right since he took over in 1999. The fact he hung onto Smith for so long especially following the disastrous 2000 01season when we got hammered by City, Ipswich and bloody Tranmere defied belief. As for every other candidate none get the pulse racing simply because we are all aware of the constraints that await them. Can they improve on an average finish of 7th? Who knows.

No doubt bill will delay the managers appointment as long as possible, that manager will then put a hurried transfer list together none of whom we'll manage to bring in as they're already well into pre season with their existing clubs. Then we'll get linked with a stellar signing and be on the verge of bringing them in before an ingrown toenail scuppers the medical. Fellaini, baines and heitinga will leave just before the season starts and in desperation we'll buy some past it twat for over the odds. Then the season will start with a senior squad of 12 with anichebe as captain. 2 billionaires amongst our shareholders and this is the way things will go

I totally agree with what the writer has said here, I think it would be a really stupid move to appoint a novice or worse still one of the failures from the manager merry-go-round.

Moyes is certainly not blameless and must have known about Fergie, but he would have been stupid and unambitious if the biggest job in football had come up and he'd have turned it down.

Maybe a big factor in his decision was Kenwright and the board for not stumping up the money in January, when everyone could see we needed only 2-3 players for us to get into the top four.

Excellent article, Sid. Promoting from within will seem the best option for Kenwright. It will be cheap and sadly it will placate quite a few Evertonians.

Kenwright is devoid of ambition and inspiration and I fear he will cling on at Goodison Park no matter that he is slowly destroying the club. This is a pivotal time for the club. He must get it right.

God I can't wait till a manager is approached, if only because it'll stem the tide of unremitting paranoia, wild speculation and general bullshit we've had to endure for the last few weeks on these pages.

Without going into all the routine Kenwright bashing, let's just examine some of the facts and 'ahem' fictions.

1. At the end of the season, Sir Alex Ferguson resigns... and, within a matter of days, David Moyes is announced as their new Manager.
> Yes this is true, clearly they'd been lining this up for a couple of weeks/months.

2. Manchester City sack Roberto Mancini and, although it takes a week or so to announce it, it’s clear Pellegrini was lined up before Mancini was sacked.
> This is pure speculation with absolutely no way of knowing the truth. As things currently stand Man City are actually managerless – Pelligrino has NOT been appointed.

3. David Moyes tells Everton around Christmas time that he will not consider signing a new contract until the end of the season.
> This is also true, but there was a belief (shared amongst most on this site) that Moyes could still stay, potentially even without the CL.

4. The season ends and Moyes becomes manager of Manchester United.
> True.

5. Bill Kenwright, having had almost 5 months notice, announces that Everton “will not be taking a quick decision, we will be taking time.”
> This really isn't true at all, BK hasn't had 5 months of Moyes leaving, he's had 5 months of the possibility he'd need to find a new manager and a possibility he would not. We know absolutely nothing about what was said between Moyes and BK privately, what was known about Man Utd and what BK or anyone else has done behind the scenes in terms of preparation or Plan B.

One point which I think you're neatly ignoring in your rant is that the situation about manager availability changes dramatically at the end of the season (a point we've not yet reached in some European leagues) as chairman and managers around the world reassess their positions. Bearing that in mind, making a decision 5 months before the end of the season when we didn't know who was available and whether Moyes would actually leave would be rather more difficult than you're portraying it.

Basically Moyes announced his decision to leave just over 2 weeks ago and since then we've drawn up a shortlist, spoken to a number of candidates and support staff internally and externally and by all accounts it would appear we're closing in on a new appointment within the next week – with Martinez and Perreira both in the running.

Ultimately I'm really no Kenwright apologist, I think we need new ownership (although they are by no means guaranteed to be any better or lead to better results – see Blackburn, Villa, Sunderland, Liverpool, etc, etc) and there are countless mistakes that have been made. However, what I don't see ANY point in is the relentless, blinkered, glass entirely broken negativity towards the board and the club that seems to be filling these pages now.
Getting rid of Moyes seems to have provided very little relief (which is odd because it was exactly what much of this site had been clamouring for for much of the last 5 or so years). If I didn't know better, I'd almost say that some of you would be happier to see the club struggling so you can have something to whinge about. Maybe if you're really lucky we'll get a relegation battle to look forward to next year!

Chris purely seculative about your "couldn't do anything for five months", others have pointed out on other threads of the assumption that Managers like players approaching the end of their contract could be sounded out about the possibility of a move come the end of their current contracts, nothing illegal about that and certainly to have a manager approaching the end of his contract have an alternative option on the cards to think about for a few months would imply a rudimentary level of contingency planning.

Its all about mitigation of risk, whether you transfer the risk (not really applicable in this instance as the risk of not having a manager), avoidance (offer an incentive to stay - unlikely given BK's jackanory leadership style), reduction (line up alternatives) or acceptance (another of BK's head in the sand moments) - again a failure of BK's chairmanship - lack of planning and foresight.

I disagree, I think that is EXACTLY what you are and the clue/giveaway for me is your choice of the word 'mistakes' suggesting 'human error but something that could happen to anyone'.

Disingenuous in the extreme in my opinion.

You add..

"..what I don't see ANY point in is the relentless, blinkered, glass entirely broken negativity towards the board and the club that seems to be filling these pages now"

Tough.

I don't see any point in 'well researched' 'full marks for effort!' badly disguised tributes to David Moyes but that's TW and we can't have everything

The reality is the actual football has finished, we can't discuss games so people concentrate on other aspects of Everton.

As for your last paragraph, insulting in the extreme.

Evertonians, who don't happen to think like you, don't want the club to succeed - desperate.

BK is clueless. I believe he genuinely thought Moyes would stay. Naive. In so doing he failed to plan. "It'll be alright on the night" may work in Luvvie Land but not in any other business and certainly not football.

If he now does what he says and "listens" to the fans, he will sign up Perreira, or Bielsa, or Laudrup. If he pretends to listen to the fans (more likely given his track record) it will be Stubbs or Martinez (maybe Neville).

Nothing is certain in choosing a manager but playing the odds by recruiting ones with a track record of success in winning leagues has got to help.

15 Posted 25/05/2013 at 09:41:48

Everton stand sixth in the richest football league on this planet, they will rake in over 50 million from Sky for the oncoming season and they will entertain around 35 thousand die hards for most games at Goodison. That is BIG fucking business.

How anyone can think that the likes of Neville, Stubbs or even big Dunc will be given the managerial reins to run this truely great club needs to stop reading all the bollocks that the media feels free to publish. Yes, we do have a total tart for a CEO and a mindless fuckwit for a chairman - however, even these two twats are aware of what Sky throws to Everton every season, so they will want to ensure that Everton remains in the EPL.

The manager position will be filled soon enough. I mean, every fucker must know that BK likes to milk all the media attention he can get, so we will just have to wait and then wait some more - then Martinez, Laudrop or a top European coach will be presented with all the gusto that BK can deliver. Personally, I don't give a fuck who it is, but rest assured the new manager is going to be one busy boy.

Chris #662, you talk about Man City speculation, but their CEO has spoken to the media, and confirmed that the decision to sack Mancini was taken before the FA Cup final, and even if he'd won the cup he'd still have walked. True, Pelligrini hasn't been appointed but clearly Man City will have been weighing things up. Whether he believed Moyes might stay or otherwise, your hero Kim Jong Bill allowed him to run his contract down, and apparently without succession planning - which I would contend is a dereliction of duty as Chairman.

Mike #694, it's actually closer to £70m from next season. And only about 40% of it is from Sky. But it's the same for all the other clubs, who all seem to be able to earn more none-TV revenue than us, so we'll still struggle to sign anyone of note unless Man U's new manager no longer wants them.

The only thing guaranteed with the increased broadcast revenue is a commensurate rise in "Other Operating Costs".

It's daft to compare lag time for Everton to appoint with Manchester United and City. Man U plc have stock market pressures and both can actually afford to take more risk than Everton as they can pay compensation and get shut if they get it wrong.

Add in to this that we actually have a manager until June 30, a ridiculous situation that should be rectified immediately. Can you actually have two managers at the same time? Is Ferguson still technically United's manager? Who sacked Mike Phelan?

Steve Jones

Nice try Chris James but you have to remember the way TW works...some on here actually like the bitterness as it allows them to feel superior to other Evertonians who aren't as 'savvy' as them. Remember you are a superior blue if you refer to Kenwright as Boys Pen Billy or something similar!.

The 'couldn't do anything for 5 months' is not accurate by the way either:

http://www.goal.com/en-gh/news/4371/exclusives/2013/04/10/3892055/everton-eye-porto-boss-pereira-as-potential-Moyes-successor

...the above is from near 2 months back and notes Pereira visiting the club several months before that. Now it may have been an amateurish, bumbling, half-arsed measure by a board that is all of those things...but it clearly cant be said that nothing was happening.

Now that I've come dangerously close to uttering the heresy that the board may, I repeat 'may', have shown the slightest glimmer of forethought I shall go away before the villagers have to start lighting their pitchforks.

From what I am reading some people actually think that Everton are too big a club to appoint from within. Barcelona have done it successfully with Gaurdiola, are we bigger than Barcelona? Liverpool did it for many years during the period when they were probably the best team in the world, are we bigger than that?

The right manager doesn't have to have the best track record, or have won a trophy. They simply need to have the knowledge, drive, ambition and skills to drive the club forward. Maybe such a person does exist within the walls of Goodison Park, maybe Martinez is that person, or Bielsa, or even Lennon. The big thing is most of us, as fans don't really know.

Unfortunately what we do know is that every single one of us is a footballing genius compared to our Chairman, so if we don't know what hope does he have?

I think its a good article Sid.

I'd just wouldnt judge Kenwright yet on this one until we find out who he appoints. Or if he takes ages in making a decision.

But you raise a very good point, which hasnt really talked about yet. No Plan B. There was never a guarantee Moyes was not going to sign the contract, it didnt seem like Kenwright had anybody lined up as a replacement just incase. Thats pretty shocking business sense for a chairman of a top 6 football club.

Im just hoping Kenwright makes the right decision in his appointment. And we need it in the next week or so!!

Im sorry, but an article from goal is not proof that Kenwright was having contingency plans to replace Moyes.

It would be very foolish for Kenwright to admit on a TV station that is beamed around the globe that he has spoken to managers that are still contracted to other football clubs.

Many of you keep saying he is an idiot, no sense, no direction, total liar yet you lap up everything he says without question. In many cases its quite clear he is saying the 'right' things in front of the cameras. Yet some of you seem to be completely unable to detect it. The irony of peoples perception of Kenwright is actually quite funny. I think the guys is a lot more clever than people give him credit for. Do I want him to continue as Chairman? Yet again, no I do not, as he simply doesn't have the finances needed. Do I believe he will sell our great club to any Venky/Magnusson/Glazier/Hicks/Gillette/Fernandes/Mandaric/Lerner style takeover? Not a fucking chance. And for this I will applaud the guy.

Ernie Baywood

But we don't know that do we? If he did have every possible measure in place, isn't there every chance that we'd be in this exact same position.

People are so quick to jump in and criticise; it was happening within days of Moyes's announcement.

The fact is, some people adopt their stance and then stick to it regardless of the circumstances. FFS, we had people on here who managed to find fault with everything Moyes did, which was strange considering he led us to a 6th place finish. Maybe not everything wrong then?

And Bill. According to this thread he's clueless, never made a good decision. Except he is the Chairman of a club in the top 6 of the league and a multi millionaire to boot. If he's clueless, what does that make the rest of us?

History has shown plenty of bad decisions in Bill's tenure, but do people really think our new manager will be chosen solely by Bill aided by Google? Really think that a Premier League chairman hasn't heard of Bielsa? Do you not think a man who can manage multiple businesses isn't smart enough to ask some qualified people for advice on this?

Patrick Murphy

We'll eventually end up with a manger regardless of how painful the process, I'm not sure you can defend BK on most of what he's done and all I say if you had a multi-million Pound business would you trust him with it? After this is the man who readily admits to not understanding the accounts.

As qualifications in finance or indeed any other discipline are not required to become the Chairman of a PL football club, we have no idea whatsoever as to his abilities we can only judge on what we see. My perception of the man is that he is a well-meaning, friendly man who is cautious in the main but who gambles on pie in the sky schemes which occasionally come off, not my idea of someone to trust with Everton FC.

On another note there are some rumours around that our season ticket sales are down for next season I wonder if this is true? If it is then it will have yet another negative impact on our finances and no doubt selling more players and reducing wages will be the order of the day. For a club that has nearly sixty years unbroken place in the top-flight and has seen the sky money roll in year on year it defies logic how we are in such a parlous financial state, fortunately we have an Evertonian in charge of the club and he will know what to do!

What most of us want isn't going to happen, because there is no "what most of us want". There isn't a consensus on who we'd like to get the gig. For every advocate on here of Martinez, for example, there seems to be a detractor who thinks he's the worst possible choice for one reason or another.

Just about the only thing I see any agreement on is that none of us likes the uncertainty. We'd all rather have a manager in place than not. But it's still only May and I just don't get the concern of some contributors on here that it's already taking too long. It will take as long as it takes. Very probably if the club had employed a new manager by now, the same people would be complaining about a rushed/hasty/knee-jerk appointment and that we should have waited and got so-and-so from such-and-such. Kenwright is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't, as so often appears the case.

How was it 'often misrepresented'?? Or was it that we stopped striving to achieve what our motto promotes?

The previous version of the Crest - created 13 years ago - was often misrepresented, suffering regularly from the omission of key elements like our name and our year of formation. As technology marches on, those challenges have increased. On television, on websites, on mobile devices, the Crest was far too often badly reproduced.

Chief Executive, Robert Elstone, said: "It was hugely important that representatives of our fan-base shaped this entire process. Commercial Director, Dave Biggar, added: “We listened to the various groups who then came back and said: ‘Can you do this with the badge? Can you do this with the shield? Can you change the colour slightly?’ “We put all of that together, listened to views and concerns and we think this is an evolution which delivers on all levels.” As well as the Everton fan-base, key commercial partners such as Kitbag and Nike were also consulted. Both organisations have huge knowledge and experience of sports branding and their input was invaluable. Club officials also sought guidance from within the design industry and from wider staff members within the football club itself"

So we were wrong - all sorts of fans WERE consulted, the badge was shaped by 'the fan-base' etc blah waffle.

Not only that but Everton listened to 'the various groups' etc.

And there was 'feedback' (impressed: "Ooooohh...feedback!")

Only one problem.

Do you - ANY ONE OF YOU - remember hearing one (just one!) Evertonian, ever ever ever saying "I don't like our badge, it needs changing/redesigning/refreshing"

Me neither, in fact it might have been the only Everton-related subject that nobody appeared had a problem with.

So did 'the fan-base' approach the club and say "The badge needs changing"?

Did. They. Fuck.

Still on the plus side, 2% REALLY like it and 7% like it so in true Everton style, fuck the other 91%

Oh and I know this is subjective, but our crest now looks like a tatty, cheap and nasty bit of 70s design with our name in lettraset.

Chris James #662 the voice of reason. Soon as I read your comments knew it would be nano seconds before the cyber pack would be tapping their keys of pessimism, gloom and doom.

"Kenshite", as Gavin so often charmlessly calls our Chairman is in a no win situation and as Sid suggested in his opening piece:

"when the Manager is eventually announced, most of us will, to say the least, be very unhappy."

That observation Sid is a very safe bet as unhappiness is available in bucketloads on this site, albeit travelling under the guise of banter and debate.

I also, like an earlier writer remember being very excited at the appointment of Mike Walker all those years ago. It seemed an inspirational choice at the time but we all know how that turned out.

A bit of luck is needed here as there is no obvious outstanding candidate and although frustrating, at this critical period for Everton, taking time to consider is almost certainly the wise option.

"Chris James #662 the voice of reason."

No fuckin' wonder we are in the state we're in. Sleepwalking into oblivion. If I sound a tad dramatic, you need to give yourself a shake. We are only going one way, under Kenwright, the badge, the shafting from Utd, the January transfer debacle are just the latest series in this boards disgraces.

And still, people make excuses.

Sigh. Sigh. Sigh.

As the ranters are clearly fixed in their doom and gloom view and likely won't be happy until their nightmare scenario has been fulfilled and they can smugly say 'I told you so' from the depths of the Championship post-bankruptcy-fuelled relegation, I will merely ask one question.

What exactly actually do you hope to achieve in your bitter, poison-tongued, one-sided ranting? Many of you have been engaging in the same old nay-saying shit in all the years I've been visiting this site about one thing or another (style of play, weakness of individual players, the DK debacle, Moyes tactical naiviety, etc) and yet I fail to see one single positive or meaningful outcome from all this 'expert' criticism.

I know misery loves company, so I suppose bitterness craves acknowledgement?

To be fair, I can understand the noses of the glass-half full boys have been put out of joint at the fact that their anti-Moyes rants ended with Dithering Dave being handed the top job in the country and thus making them look a little bit less like football genii than they might have believed. But still, what's the point of all this, are you nihilists?

Chris maybe you can educate the naysayers by informing them exactly what it is that the leadership of our club get right. David Moyes has gone to pastures new good for him but in what way does that enhance the standing of Everton FC, in my opinion when a manager has to leave Everton to go on to bigger and better things then Everton are doing something majorly wrong.

Back in the eighties a certain Gary Lineker turned down Man Utd for Everton how times have changed. What are we becoming ? Times were when we were considered a big club, now we cannot get a decent manager. I have a bad feeling for the next few seasons.

Someone has made a comment that Kenwright couldn't have legally approached an employed manager once Moyes said he might leave. But at that time there was a PL manager on a limited contract who was free to talk to. That man was already pulling up trees in his first season in the PL and was soon to go on to lift a trophy. He could have been at least approached and sounded out. He would have come without the need to compensate his club. Kenwright missed that window - in truth it probably never crossed his simple mind . The manager in question signed a new contract with his club in March. He would now reportedly cost £7m to bring in. If that is not an example of rank bad management and planning of a football club then I don't know what is.

I can't remember what post it was on but someone was defending the business acumen of BK this is about six months old but it tells it's own story.

Profits at Bill Kenwright Productions, one of the UK's biggest commercial theatre producers, shrunk by two-thirds last year and the company has given warning of a further slump after a "difficult" summer in which its longest-running show, Blood Brothers, closed after 24 years.

According to the Liverpool Daily Post, the group's pre-tax profits fell from £2m in 2010 to £668,000 the following year, on turnover down 13% to £30.9m.

The drop is despite the Society of London Theatre trade association having announced record box-office receipts of more than £528m across its members in 2011.

This is a man under severe pressure and he'll take every man jack of us down with him.

Question - do you see no irony in someone constantly moaning and fucking whining about people moaning and fucking whining?

To be honest, if a website made me as miserable, bitter and angry as TW appears to make you, I'd gip it.

Eugene, I love your eccentric rantings, but seriously:

"To be honest, if a website made me as miserable, bitter and angry as TW appears to make you, I'd gip it."

To be equally honest I have to ask you, if a football club made me as miserable, bitter and angry as Everton appear to make you?

Dave Brierley (152) - "To be equally honest I have to ask you, if a football club made me as miserable, bitter and angry as Everton appear to make you?"

- Cue Family Fortunes wrong answer sound effect -

Sorry but there's a BIG flaw there according to your 'logic' .

Remember - I AM 'miserable bitter and angry' (and ranting and bile-filled and a nay-sayer and GRRRR etc blah yawn) so surely Everton (and TW) makes perfect sense for me.

It's YOU who want's to portray yourself as Mr Positive.

It's YOU who (apparently) spends each day singing 'Zippedee Doo Dah' (while no doubt polishing your collection of full-sized Moyes statues).

It's YOU constantly informing the world that your glass is brimming over and that you're very similar to Larry (of 'Happy as Larry' fame).

Still not to worry,, whenever someone 'answers' a question WITH a question, it's fairly obvious they're floundering and looking to deflect.

I hope I'm not getting off topic here but there is another aspect to the appointment of our next manager that may be complicating things for our chairman. It seems that our former manager doesn't want the current coaching staff at Utd (Phelan & Steele) and that Woods and Round may replace them.

So we quite possibly are looking for a management team. Whoever is appointed, he and his coaching team will have to win the dressing room over very quickly unless we don't want our best players to make the trip up the East Lancs Rd.

Redknapp, Jordan and Adams. I think this crew would be well received by Alan Stubbs and David Weir who I think are part of the glue that has holds our club together.

There you go it's easy isn't it.

Fellaini to Man Utd is what I think the manager decision will depend upon. We know we never spend before selling so expect a club to be compensated & a manager installed immediately after his sale.

Again.. Too much Manc influence!? This started with DM so the conspiracists are well within their rights to be suspicious!

People complaining about negativity? Well us fans are investing in the club for entertainment or success & the custodians AREN'T investing for profit margin. See the conflict of interests there?
