Big Nev's Heritage Night

 Comments (6) jump to end

I went to the Neville Southall Dinner put on by EFC Heritage Society on Friday night in the Alex Young Lounge at Goodison; it was the best dinner I have ever attended concerning Everton.

Neville was excellent, by far the most interesting ex-Everton player to speak and answer questions. Paul Wharton did a fantastic job in organising the night and the Raffle & Auction helped both Nevilles charity and the EFC Heritage Society. So many who attend said they were made up to be there.

I must mention the food and the service – both fantastic. Everton get some stick but this night they sparkled. Everyone who played a part should be proud of them selves.

I am looking forward to the next EFC Heritage occasion which is in the new Liverpool Museum on Saturday & Sunday 17 &18 November. Its all about celebrating 120 years at Goodison Park. Talks and items on show – and all free.

Once again, Paul Wharton – take a bow! Without you and the EFC Heritage Society, the rest of us Evertonians would not be aware of some of our lost history.

Got to agree with that – a most enjoyable night. Came down with my mate who is a recent convert, 3 seasons to my 40 ,and we were impressed with the knowledge and love of the club shown by all present. Great to feel part of Everton FC.

My Dad and I attended the evening and had a lovely night (came away with some fantastic memorabilia as well as the signed autobiography). All in all, in spite of the twelve hour round trip from Chelmsford (bloody M6) it was very well worth it. It was superb value for money at £55 per person for a meal of that calibre in those settings including a signed hard back copy and to meet the man himself.

A thoroughly enjoyable evening that surprised me not to have more attendees at such a price. Kudos to all concerned.

I was also there and enjoyed the evening very much. It was great to see so many people there who clearly had a deep-rooted love of the club, it would have been good to have a chat at every table.

Nev scrubbed up very well John.

It was an excellent night and a great effort by Paul Wharton, ably assisted by George Orr.

Well done guys.

On behalf of the EFC Heritage Society, we would like to thank everyone that attended the Big Nev Dinner/Book, everyone seemed to enjoy the evening and a great honour to be in the company of one of Everton FC LEGENDS.
