 Comments (26) jump to end

I have created a map which shows the birthplaces of the whole Everton senior squad (as of November 2012):

Check it out!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Coleman is from Killybegs in County Donegal, not Donegal town.

There are overlaps. Distin is behind Gueye... you'll have to zoom in to the map to see that.

I think it's pretty cool actually, be interesting to see maps of different clubs by comparison. I'd bet we have more home grown UK/Irish players than most.

Noel - thanks for the info I will update that tonight. I took all the birthplaces from the Official Site/Wikipedia but obviously chose the wrong Donegal for Coleman! My bad!

Marcus – Thanks for clearing that up for me, you're absolutely right, some markers do overlap... it is my intention to improve this map in the future by including point clustering but it's only my pet project so may take some time.

Chris - cheers! I hoped that this map would act as a neat visual representation of our players, and although obviously mainly homegrown it does show that we have a truly International squad.

That would make a nice poster somewhere in Finch Farm... stick in pin in the home land of the new foreign signing to make him feel welcome! And also Liverpool badge bog roll to wipe their arses on. One of the family then.

Good work Charley,

Is that the "Northern Lights" behind Ross Barkley?Or could it be the "Golden Vision!"

If you were to plot a map of the birthplaces of our dear neighbours' players would it spell SHITE?

James Morgan #778

Me too; but I'll step back and let Charley Glynn take my place in the queue.

I've got a photo of my Granny when she was in the Ghurkas, which is every bit as interesting as your map, Charley.

Excellent geek-work Charley, love it.

No English players from south of Liverpool. That's telling us something surely, I haven't quite figured out what it is yet.

Peter can we see the picture of your Granny? Seriously the funniest comment of the year! Charley as soon as I read your title post I thought oh my god they're gonna kill him, top points for originality though!

I look forward to seeing the map updated to include all previous players, Charley. That should occupy a few cold winter nights!

I don't believe it!! I was charged 10'kin $AU in Sydney for a pint of cider and it wasn't even a full pint only 500 mL.

That's £6.10 (I think )

Outragious!

Charley perhaps for your next project you can set up a map that we can all access and plot our own locations. Be interesting to see where we all are. Too hard?
