Jimmy Tansey passes away

Former Everton left-back, Jimmy Tansey, has passed away today aged 83.

A product of the youth system, Tansey made 142 appearances for the Blues in the 1950s after making his debut against Notts County in March 1953.

I remember him well, a quiet and efficient full-back, a full-back of his era, not like the modern wing backs. A gentleman in demeanour. My condolences to his family.

So sad to hear of the passing of Jimmy Tansey,I watched him in the 50's and he was a solid and reliable left back,no frills,got on with giving his best for the club.A true gentleman off the field will be sadly missed.
