Galatasaray have pulled out the Java Cup, to be replaced by Nacional of Uruguay. Nacional may now be Everton's opponents at Jakarta's Gelora Bung stadium on Sunday (29 July), if both sides win their opening games against Malaysia and Indonesia.

Nacional is not coming to the Java Cup. The tournament organizers approached Nacional, but the club has a Copa Sudamericana match on August 1. The fourth team will be the senior Indonesian national team.

Anyone who's paid attention to Indonesian football is not the least bit surprised by this foul-up from LPIS. There's a reason their league remains an inferior product to the rebel Indonesian Super League despite the latter lacking Indonesian FA or PSSI recognition.
