Bidwell back on loan with Brentford

Reserves defender Jake Bidwell has rejoined Brentford on a one-month loan deal.

The 19-year-old Academy graduate played 25 times for the Bees on loan last season as they narrowly missed out on a play-off place.

Having overseen a mixed start to the new season, Uwe Rosler was keen to bring Bidwell back of David Moyes would release him. “I am very pleased to welcome Jake back to Brentford,” Rosler said. “He fitted in very well to our squad and our style of play last year.

“He knows what we do at Brentford and that will be an advantage to all of us. Jake comes to us on a youth loan but has a lot of experience at our level.”

Bidwell, meanwhile, explained his reasons for taking the opportunity to rejoin Brentford.

“I enjoyed my time here last year and I think it helped me a lot playing first team football and I'm hoping to do the same again, and get more games under my belt.”

“[Rosler] made it hard for me to say no; when someone shows that much interest in you it obviously gives you a lot of confidence and I want to repay that and hopefully I can do that in the coming weeks.”

Anyone seen Jake for a game or 3? Potential?

James, I work with a couple of Brentford supporters and they rave about him. Good first touch and tactically aware. He's still learning his trade and League 1 is a tough league so it won't do him any harm playing every week.

Brentford had Adam Forshaw on loan last season and bought him in the close season so there is a connection emerging.

We have been holding off loaning him back to Brentford all summer and what I take from this is that Bainsey is going nowhere over the next few days. Which is hopefully the most positive aspect of this story.

David - Apologies. Neglected to look in until now. Thanks for the update.

Let's see what the lad does with himself to improve his game.

Fingers crossed.
