Two more live games announced

SKy Sports have revealed the 21 Premier League games that will be screened live in December and early January, with Everton's home game against Chelsea (30th Dec) and their trip to Newcastle (2nd Jan) among them.

Hopefully they will replace some of the Liverpool games who seem to be on every week on one channel or another. I'm fed up with Sky and ESPN showing football games concerning the four bottom teams in the Premier League.

I don't think league positions should be part of the criteria until after February when it really gets to the business end of the season.

Before that, appearances should be spread out equally.

Andrew #562, the clubs are all promised 10 live games minimum, at around £550k "facility fee" per match.

The domestic TV deal is sold across 7 packages based on time slot and whether you get first dibs on teams.

Guess where the Monday 8pm slot ranks? Bear in mind those games don't fit easily with the lucrative Asia market.

ESPN, in their last year before BT take over, inherited one of the premium slot packages from Setanta.

Aaaaaaaaand, they don't feature Everton at all in the first half of the season. They are Sky acolytes of the highest order, and I say that having a lot of friends there (Asia). We are not on their radar. Their loss.
