The nearly man David Moyes risks being overlooked if he leaves Everton

The achievements of Moyes over the past decade far exceed those of managers such as Alex McLeish and Steve McClaren who have won major trophies in the same period, but the reality is that silverware is a prerequisite for applicants for the kind of jobs the Scot may covet. That Everton have not lifted any, critics of Moyes suggest, is no coincidence. Too often they have underperformed in the biggest of matches.

Back in the eighties, Fergie was given the Man Utd job because he won something. When he retires after God knows how many Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup & League Cup wins, Man Utd — in a position to employ any manager in the world — are going to choose a guy who has won nothing. I can't see it somehow.

Chelsea? Will their fans accept Moyes following Mourinho, Hiddink, Ancelotti, Big Phil? I don't thinks so and the players certainly wouldn't be dictated to.

Arsenal? With their recently acquired philosophy of free flowing football? Nah.

Man City? Why would they go for a Ford when the have Rolls Royce money? They won't.

Spurs? Settled manager.

Bayern Munich? Barca? Madrid? Dream on.

I like Moyes and I'd love him to bring us success but the signs that he will (A) stay to do it and (B) have the the gumption to achieve don't look good.

If he's already handed in his resignation then fair enough but, if he hasn't, he should be told that the next 10 games are his interview for a new contract.

Nice last point you made John, maybe it's the manager that needs motivation. It's a long time since he had a bit of pressure on him.

Like Fellaini — and I guarantee this by the way — I know he is going to Arsenal. I can categorically assure you all that Fellaini is already an Arsenal player. Pre-contract only with one caveat: the Champions League.

Moyes is going to Arsenal also, although deal not agreed; he will decide himself at the end of the season. There are no other options so it's a straight choice: us or them, as they may not be in the Champions League also.

You hit the nail on the head Steve, he thinks he is more important than the club. Not even Utd would allow Ferguson to decide at the very end of his contract, yet Mr Stability is allowed to inform the club of his intentions in May. He then has the audacity to suggest that the uncertainty at the club has had no impact on results. Please, please leave Moyes.

I can just about see Felli being an Arsenal player but I honestly can't see David Moyes being the Arsenal Manager.

Although the similarities between the (arguable) managerial stagnation at Arsenal and Everton are there, and you'd think no champion's league would see Wenger under serious pressure.

Moyes and Wenger? Straight swap?! Worth a fiver at 100-1!

the man is an egotistical wanker..and bottler. I hear reading need a new manager mr moyes..take it, it's the only other top prem job you will ever get.

Hopefully all the moyes fans will follow him where ever he goes. He has about as much ambition as a rotten turnip..tactically inept , bk hole licker
