Second goal against City stays with Jelavic

As expected, the Premier League's "dubious goals panel" has ruled that Nikica Jelavic's deflected strike against Manchester City will officially be attributed to the Croatian.

The goal capped a tremendous Everton performance and ended for Jelavic a League goal drought that had stretched all the way back to 9th December.

Typical. The guy scores a fantastic goal at the end of a fantastic performance by us and the Premier League try and take it from him. Give the poor lad a break. He's got his goal, leave him alone Prem!

They were considering that might be an own goal? What a laugh.

How do you get one of the jobs. That's not employment. It's free money falling from the sky.

Made up for the lad, hopefully he'll score the goals to get us 4th?

I thought the rule was if the original shot was on target, then it's a goal. With the video and tracking technology now, it's a quick and easy outcome to ascertain. Don't even know why it was referred. The Panel were quick to rule Ratboy's first strike in the Derby a Baines OG, as the ball was clearly going across goal when he first hit it.

He'll still be on the bench this Saturday though. Vic had a great game against City and deserves to stay in. Jela needs to be our super sub... for now.

I remember when Crouch joined the RS, he hadnt scored in 15 games or so, then he had a shot against the bar that came back and bounced in off the keeper...

Guess what: the dubious goals panel gave it to Crouch... not sure if Barwick was chair of the FA at the time mind...
