No lingering interest in M'Baye Niang

The 17-year-old chose the San Siro over Goodison Park in the summer after having a successful trial at Finch Farm, but has so far made just one substitute performance for a Milan side which is struggling in Serie A.

Niang's career has been hit by trouble during his short spell in Italy, most recently when he was one of five players who attended a nightclub on the eve of France's under-21 qualifier with Norway last month, a game they lost 5-3 ending their hopes of qualification for next year's tournament.

It was not his only misdemeanour, after the teenager was also arrested for driving without a licence only a month after arriving in Milan.

The under-age Niang had borrowed a car from fellow summer arrival Bakaye Traoré and pretended to be his team-mate when he was questioned.

Although the powerful forward impressed David Moyes during his week on Merseyside in the summer, the Post understands he will not attempt to lure him to Everton again.

Sounds like another Balotelli to me. Did well to miss out on him by all accounts.

If he's another Balotelli, I'd have him without a second's thought.

Don't get all the hype and circus that surrounds Balotelli! He wouldn't last 5 mins in a David Moyes squad. Just ask Drenthe, AVM, Blonqvist et al.

He's actually been banned by the u21s for a year. Balotelli mark 2.

Seems like Balotelli without all the talent.

It's one thing to act like a mug if you're world class. It's another to act like a mug cuz you THINK you're world class.

See ya buddy, try another team.
