PSG's Hoarau linked again

Everton are again being linked with a move for Paris St. Germain striker Guillaume Hoarau whose contract expires in the summer.

The tall 28 year-old was a rumoured target of David Moyes in the January transfer window earlier this year but Nikica Jelavic was the man the Blues signed on deadline day instead.

He is quoted with the usual platitudes about concentrating on his current club while also wanting to make a decision about his future sooner rather than later but there is no suggestion that he has his eye on anywhere specific at this stage.

"My contract expires in June and I want to play week in, week out," he said.

"There are teams interested in me so I will make my decision known very soon.

"For the moment I want to help PSG."

Anyone know if this guy's any good?

He's nothing spectacular from what I've seen or read but I guess many players would struggle to oust Ibrahimovic from a team spot!

I personally would rather we went for Gameiro instead, or my own favourite – Vossen from Genk, who's a regular starter and has scored loads of goals at all levels in the last 3 years.

He's tall and strong and scores with his head. He also wears number 9 - sounds like my (/our ) type of centre forward. http://youtu.be/jpAQjW7f9-I

Hoarau had shoulder surgery in September so probably isn't even playing at the moment. Gameiro and Vossen both more consistent in front of goal but consistency comes with a price tag.

Surely a midfielder is our top priority, unless Moyes sees Fellaini being pushed back or a role for Barkley in the second half of the season. I can't ever see us starting with two strikers unless one played the number 10 role so they'd have to be happy with being an option off the bench or starting only when it was tactically prudent that they do so.

This Guillaume Hoarau rumour could have legs. He's got a reasonable scoring record in France,& he's been linked with us before. He seems to be a big physical lad,& more importantly he's on a free in the summer. There's no shame in not getting a game behind Ibrahimovic.

We haven't got much quality in reserve if Jelavic gets injured. I wouldn't be surprised if Moyesie takes him on loan til the end of the season. If he is any good we could sign him on a free in the summer...

Although being subbed due to Ibrahimovic, if we were going to go for a French player at PSG I'd rather it be Kevin Gameiro although I don't see him fitting in to our playing style.
