Moyes wants Pedro Leon from Real Madrid

06/01/2013 | Comments (17)
The Sunday Times reports that Everton boss David Moyes is hot on the heels of Real Madrid forward Pedro Leon. Leon, who is currently on loan at Getafe, has struck 2 goals in his 15 league appearances this season.

The attacking midfielder has shown much promise over the first half of this season however Madrid are stock full of forwards and are rumoured to be willing to accept £6m for the player who has failed to break into the 1st team.

Everton are particularly strong down the left hand side of the pitch with Leighton Baines and Steven Pienaar forming a formidible defensive/offensive combination. However, the right hand side does leave room for creative outlet.

Out of all the Sunday rags, the Sunday Times is a worthy paper so this may have some legs; time will tell though.

He looks good, scored some great goals... I hope we get him.

Where would the £6mil come from? Or the reported £4mil we've bid for Forren? Unlikely at best.

"Pedro León, on loan from Real Madrid, will be facing over a month on the sidelines after being diagnosed with a grade two sprain of the medial ligament in his right knee. Medical conducted today confirmed the scope of the injury and Leon will not be expected back on the field until mid-January at the earliest."

He's ours!

We've been interested in him before... I think we tried to get him on loan at the start of last season but he wanted to stay in Spain and go back to Getafe.

A decent player, plays on the right predominantly but where we're going to get the £6m for him this month is beyond me.

So what is he then — 'forward' or 'attacking midfielder'? A little more precision please. If the first, then 2/15 is not exactly hot potatoes is it? Not much creativity down the right, well he's crocked right now ain't he, just like old Pedro it seems (#812). And we'll just unzip the wallet and flash the cash shall we? Here we go, what was it, 6 mill sponds, no probs.

I would also suggest that this sort of player/signing if the piece of journo has legs and he is in fact a right-sided mid is about as low down on our priorities as it might possibly be. Goalie (desperate), centre-back (could do with one), centre-mid (desperate), true forward who bags a better ratio than 2/15 (desperate), right-sided midfielder with some pace who bags the odd goal now and then (er?????????).

Where's the money coming from for this? I know we're paying for Forren with half a ton of cod and some theatre tickets.

I could see the Heitinga money and maybe the Gueye money going towards him if this happened. Then I could see Mirallas playing up front with Pedro on the right.

I'd take a loan though!

Here’s a revolutionary idea: Bring in some players like this before we sell anyone. Sorry, I’m getting carried away.

Mirallas is the answer on the right once he's fit again, which should be fairly soon now.

Vadis is the one we need

The number of goals a RM scores is irrelevant if you ask me. I want to know how many crosses he puts in, and how accurate they are.

Spot on Karl (904) and Steve (914) — I'm keeping my fingers tightly crossed that our main priorities are taken care of first before what, for me at any rate, would be the luxury of not one but possibly two Mirallas's. Goalie, centre-mid, forward, centre-back (if necessary) please.

What happened to Vadis? Everything's gone quiet on that one. Jesus, we are being linked to Huddlestone, Livermore, Leon, Vadis, Forren etc... Great if some of these actually happened like.

Colin (#934), this is silly season(s), it happens twice a year when we and every other club is linked to every player in the known universe. If we signed every player we are linked to, the bench would look like a crowd scene from Ben Hur. Take no notice until he (or they) are pictured holding up the shirt — expressing their undying love for the club that they supported when they were boys!

If its a winger Moyes is after, which I highly doubt.. Would rather see him go for Ricardo Quaresma, who is without a club. A manager like Moyes could well bring out the best in him.

Mirallas isn't going to hang out on the right wing happily forever. He's a forward, and I'd like to see how he'd go up front with or without Jelavic occasionally.
