The Rumour Mill

Another day, another name linked

10 days into the transfer window and the normal pattern is there for all to see: a myriad of names linked to (and from!) Everton. Sum total transfer action: Zero. Today's new name: Massadio Haidara, a defender at French side Nancy.

All the usual banal rhetoric from the agents and the media. When it is done then I will believe it.

Quite honestly I believe Moyes doesn't want anyone and is quite satisfied he has already put together a squad that satisfies the board and will carry the Blues into Champions League. After all, the board has been satisfied with his ''achievements'' for the last 10 years.

Moyes is a top manager but I believe he has feathered his nest well enough to be offered a top post elsewhere with a ''rich'' club and that won't be far away. He has Oviedo as a replacement for Baines in the event Baines is tempted away, so why buy Hadera?

God, I hate the transfer window

There is no money, nothing to see here besides lazy newspapers, worry more about leavers not joiners

If we have any money to spend, which I'am now doubting everyday this window is open. You would have thought we would have done our business by now due to the injuries in the squad.

We have three home games and one not so difficult away game coming up in which the new players could have bedded in.

Starting to panic..

I've heard from a club source, that if we're lucky, we might be able to afford a pot to piss in.

Maybe Colin, but will we have a window to throw it out of? Doubt it.

The gossip/rumour-mongering media is using the transfer windows as a ploy to get {mostly} the younger fans to buy newspapers who, in normal circumstances, wouldn't.

Gavin, spot on. For all the idle speculation in the papers, no one has left the club yet. I would be more concerned about our better players leaving than us not finding good quality recruits.

Keiran # 841 "I would be more concerned about our better players leaving than us not finding good quality recruits."

Now come on its only January.... This is will happen in the summer. Do try and not get ahead of yourself.

It all depends on behind the scenes puppet masters. By that I mean Banks and Blue Bills super rich mates.

Word is, Colin (#821), that we are only getting the pot on-loan!

If we sign anyone, it will be at the last minute... So we don't have to pay extra wages in January.

I expect two last-day, last-hour, last-minute loan signings. The Norwegian guy will sign once JH's move has been sorted.

Or following the usual MO Steve, a last minute fire sale with no possibility of getting in replacements.

Eric #905 It will be an old chipped and cracked one that Man Utd don't need anymore.

Fuck me, I know Kenwright is in the theatre business, but what's with all the musicals? First it's Dick Van Dyke from Mary Poppins and now it's Nancy from Oliver.... Who next? Someone called Joseph?

Riquelme is currently unattached to a club....

Just saying.

I saw him at John Lennon Airport Kevin...... just putting that out there!

Hmm - a transfer policy based on BK's theatrical contacts, Tony? (@37) That sounds just about right.

Well, we've already got the "Follow the Jelavic Road" song! Plus a player called Oz - OK, Ossie, but that's pretty close.

As for Dorothy's companions, I'd suggest...

The Cowardly Lion: Big Vic ("Come on, stop pulling a face and go for it, lad")

The Tin Man: Fellaini ("What do you mean, you're thinking of leaving? After all we've done for you? Have a heart.")

The Scarecrow: Jags ("Don't hoof it, mate, don't hoof it... Oh, too late")

Given the amount of times he's been spotted there I'm beginning to think Riquelme's feckin employed at the John Lennon Airport

Glad Hitz has signed up

Gibson sadly seems crocked more often than not and we need someone solid who can "do a job" in the middle

The squad is too small as it is so its a no brainer

Would like a cheap Huddlestone or Palacios who I reckon Moyes could really work with

However im thinking that money "might" be an issue..

Biggest chance lost in years if we don't invest a little in this window

Sorry to remind you all (as this is the tenth time I've checked for a new signify today too) but we usually don't do business until the very end of the window for a variety of reasons.. don't panic and WHATEVER YOU DO, don't put any signings off putting their names on the dotted line... surely they must google themselves to see how much us fans love them before they commit... sometimes the stuff we write about the club can be really worrying and hurtful (and alot of the time seemingly informed!) but its mainly because we're kept in the dark by our manager, who may I remind you took over just as we looked a dead cert for the drop.
