The Rumour Mill's tour around League 1 via media hackery and speculation takes us to Montpellier where Younes Belhanda has emerged as a target for Everton.

The 22-year-old, who has scored nine goals in 17 games, has apparently seen a proposed move to Fenerbahçe fizzle out over personal terms.

Everton are "among a clutch of clubs" eyeing the midfielder, according to reports.

Younes Belhanda. Nope, can't see anything wrong with that name.

QPR star Taarabt is considered not good enough be in the squad for Morocco in the African Nations Cup. Must have some decent players. But is Younes Belhanda in the Moroccan squad?

Not a hope in hell of this happening. One of the brightest talents in France at the moment. Unlikely he will be moving for a pack of m&m's and some tickets to see a show...

Somehow I can't see many kids wanting 'Belhanda' printed on the back of a shirt!

All-time rudely named players... Seaman, Kuntz, Shittu, Dudu, Kenny Lunt (Lenny!), Dickov, Kaka, Windass and the best one ever... Ladies and Gentlemen, the rudest of the rude, Fifa and Uefa winner for greatest ever name in football... Mr Rod Fanni.

I can see the scenario in my minds eye, we sign him up, he's one on one with the keeper, screws the ball wide, cue his surname!

Good player. Too expensive for us. Probably go to one of our CL rivals. Or QPR.

"Couldn't agree personal terms with fenerbahce" - what chance have we got then????
It would be lovely if we did have some cash for players like him or Capoue (without selling Felli or Baines)

Schalke two up. Brilliant run and assist by Holtby. What happened with this guy?

WOW! Schalke 2 Hannover 2. Two goals in two minutes.

Wow again !! Schalke 3 - 2 Holtby assists again.

4 - 2 What a match!!!

Holy Mackerel 4 - 3. Five goals in 13 minutes. I'll have to abandon this post.15 minutes left.

Harold, the first half was so dull I gave up on it. Holtby looked neat and tidy but was fairly anonymous.

Read elsewhere that Spurs were interested in this guy. Takes us well out of the reckoning unless he is just a back-up plan and their original objective is achieved. Maybe Holtby moving early could lead to Belhanda coming to us?

Holtby makes it 5-3 and comes off.Gee Whiz 5-4 The final whistle. These guys can really finish but defended like 10 year olds.

Oh yes.Just remembered. Holtby is joining Gareth Bale,Defoe,Dempsey,Lennon and Dembele at Spurs.....scary stuff.

Scary stuff you say Harold, but all those names weren't good enough to beat the likes of Neville, Osman, Naismith etc!!

Plus they can only play so many of them at any one time so Holtby had better get used to a bit-part role.

Si. Yes,you are right. He's a very useful player but a long way from being a star. I would sooner have the Moroccan lad. He's a bit young for DM but is not exactly a novice. One thing we can sure of. The rumours will accelerate..

Paul. Good one mate.Rekindled a happy memory. Like you,our lads will do for me.We may not look scary but judging by tactics employed against us by certain outfits,we must be.

Paul (#643), Fenerbahçe are the team that fucked us about for 2 years with Yobo's transfer, so I'm not surprised this guy wouldn't agree terms with them.

Bellender only on the bench for Morocco, behind RS's Assaidi then. Not ideal for a marquee signing!

Maybe his age and inexperience put him on the bench, which means he would also be on our bench. DM always prefers maturity as we all know.

Is there any thing else in the pipeline? With the Monday game likely to be called off, I'll need a big bundle of rumours to keep me going through the week.

Montpellier chairman in Observer this morning "Fenerbahçe wanted to pay us in 3 installments. What a good idea... they can take their installments and stick them up that place I am thinking about"
