Moyes back in pole position to take Fergie reins
How much longer will the 49-year-old see the big jobs floating across his line of vision and sometimes apparently settling into his palm, only to watch another contender step into his place. There was no indication that Moyes was ever considered for the Chelsea job. Most starkly, it happened when Chelsea jettisoned their Champions League-winning manager Roberto Di Matteo and dragged back from the wilderness Moyes's old Liverpool rival Rafa Benitez.

The title suggests he's riding one of Fergie's nags... probably Cheltenham as it's an Irish story.
Why would Fergie want his pony to come 7th?

His not having put pen to paper at Everton does not help. For those who say he's waiting to see where we finish this season I say "rubbish". If anything his position makes it increasingly unsettling for all and makes it more likely we don't finish well.
If we do finish in 4th/5th he might stay, if we don't he might go. In either case it is only Moyes and his team that can make it happen. The way people talk sometimes you would think Moyes didn't have any influence over the outcome. I'm getting increasingly fed up with his lack of a decision and have written previously that he should make a statement one way or the other. He dithers on this like many of his substitutions: where he makes them late or poorly and it proves costly. Dithering over this issue may do likewise for EFC.

I don't see how Moyes not having a contract will affect how the team plays on the pitch either, they're professional footballers and will only be focussed on one thing when they get on the pitch, not talking among themselves about the manager's contract.

Im sure that whoever is manager is secondary to their own contract issues.
Managers and players come and go, some stay longer than others.
The only real constant is the unwavering support of the die hard fans !!

Fergie's much publicised interview during the week made it clear that he will be at Man Utd until his health forces otherwise, and that it would be his choice.
Watching it, for me it seems that it might not be for a few years yet. He has also eluded to in the past, quite astutely, that there can hardly be any "front runners" for the job, because you never know who will be on the radar when the opportunity arises, given how fickle chairmen are with sacking popular managers etc.
