Sky Sports want to showcase The Neville Bros

14/04/2013 | Comments (13)
Sky Sports are hoping to sign Phil Neville at the end of the season, the Daily Star Sunday claims. Producers are supposedly 'desperate' to team him up with his brother Gary on their line-up of pundits and they are preparing a big-money deal to tempt him.

A source at Sky said: “The bosses took a risk when they signed Gary but he's turned out to be one of the most popular pundits on TV.”

Sources close to Phil say he has been inundated with offers from other clubs. But 'a pal' said: “Punditry is certainly something that is of interest to him. He and Gary are very close but they often have very different opinions so it could make for some great discussions.”

1 = Poor; 2 = Fair; 3 = Good; 4 = Very Good; Empty (grey) = Unranked

My mate Tommy always liked the name Hugh so he changed his name.

Tommy to Hugh.

The Chuckle brothers got wind of this and...the rest is history.

Probably the worst gag ever.

There'll be some ugly scenes...

Much as I respect the younger Neville I'm not sure he'd be anything like as incisive as his older brother. I seem to recall an interview when absolutely, positively, categorically insisted he wanted nothing other than to be the manager of a football club, before adding "or a coach".

Good luck to Phil, whatever he ends up doing... I just wish he could have won a cup with the Blues.

I think they'll both end up in management.

This is Gary's sabbatical in my opinion. Both good lads and both will do well.

What d'ye know? On the "Phil calls it a day" piece the other day I magically predicted this.

"He should really retire altogether from playing, now. The energy and tenacity just aren't there anymore, which was always the sum of his talent. Best of luck to him in his new MNF spin off with Gary, "Neville Neville".

I know nobody likes a 'show off', which is why I previously refrained from doing this after I predicted Sylvain Distin's 'major fuck-up' at Wembley last year in a piece leading up to that Semi.

*Yes, I am quasi-magical & if you don't believe me, go through the archives boy!

The Neville Neville show will be on for years to come.

David Moyes "Phil I want you to help the club by becoming more involved in off the pitch matters are you up to it?"

Pip "Yeah I think so Boss, I have started my FA course and have agreed to do some work with the England youngsters"

David Moyes "Well Phil you know how cash-strapped we are, we can only pay minimum wage, I've spoken to Bill and he says you would be doing the club a huge favour"

Pip "err, well as long as it helps me to develop my skills and if the pay increases with experience, I might consider it"

David Moyes "By the way Phil you do have a clean PSV licence don't you?"
Pip "I'll be in touch, I'm going to see our kid tonight he has something in mind, thanks all the same boss."
David Moyes "Never mind Phil, I wonder if Naismith can drive a coach"

Neville Neville? Isn't that Gary and Phil's Dad's name? They'd need him on the show as well. Then it would be Neville Neville Neville, or come think of it Neville Neville with Neville and Neville. Lots of possibilities...
