According to InsideFutbol, they cite sources in Spain "have hinted at a growing admiration" for the midfielder who is also a long-time rumoured target of Chelsea.

Come off it, he'd stand out like a sore thumb playing for them. Charging into people, elbows flailing, hair blowing in the wind....I fail to see any reason why one of European footballs giants would want to recruit a player that's mediocre at best.
He doesn't even have a preferred position.
What could he possibly offer Real Madrid?? Much as he looks good playing for us, we have a midfield that's are nowhere near the level of Messrs Ozil, Khadira, Alonzo, Di Maria, Modric, Essien, and some bloke called Ronaldo.
I do rate Fellaini but to think he'd make any sort of impact in Spain is laughable. He'd be sent off every game.

I didn't say that Gibson was rubbish. Patrick said that Barca needed a defensive mid so I suggested Gibson.
