The Rumour Mill

Everton linked with Hoilett again

06/05/2013 | Comments (13)
With Queens Park Rangers' relegation back to the Championship confirmed, some of their more saleable assets will be grist for the rumour mill for weeks to come and the Mail are dredging up Everton's prior interest in Junior Hoilett to support the suggestion that the Blues will be in for him again this summer.

David Moyes reportedly tried to sign the Canadian-born striker before he went to Loftus Road but given how poorly the 22 year-old has performed for the Londoners this season, there's no guarantee that he would rekindle his interest in the player should he stay as Everton boss.

The only thing Junior Hoilett has proved at QPR, is that he is a money grabber! The same as the likes of Remy and many more including Odemwinge

I had just read this thread and was (am) basically killing time until midnight when Christopher Guest's brilliant mockumentary 'For Your Consideration' starts on BBC2.

Anyway as I'm reading, I hear Kenwright's fucking voice. For a second, I was very confused. He's waxing staggeringly lyrical and giving it the full luvvie.

I look up and there he is on telly. His big fat mugging grinning smug sweaty grid taking up the entire screen. Turns out it's something about Michael Crawford. I've a good mind to put my foot through the screen and send the BBC the bill.

Sure, let's sign him after apparently he said no to us once and let's dwell in mediocre 6-8th Doddy-land. 'For Your Consideration' is fab, Signing Hollett would be symptom and symbol of the Moyes years if it happened on his watch.

He looked very good at Blackburn a season ago. If he was available for a knock down price I wouldn't say no. He's very young and very quick and I've heard his dad (also his advisor) told him to go to QPR. Certainly not top of my list but think he could become a good player at the right club.

Thanks for the tip off Eugene, having seen Best in Show and some of his other more well known works, this is definitely on my list now.

Hoilett looked pretty good at the beginning of the season for QPR, in a shit team, and he definitely was a player when he left Blackburn.. If I was the Everton manager I would carry a list of names like Hoillett, Wright-Philips, Joe Cole, Jordan Henderson, etc (there are scores but it's early) to every 'personal terms" meeting - football is littered with wasted careers of players who took the big move and hardly played again in their 20's. At least, if you are proven, you will get a fair crack of the whip at GP.

Hoilett was fantastic a season bad season, especially in the train wreck which is QPR, doesn't destroy talent.

But...if we were to look at a QPR player, it should be Remy. Against us I thought he was the only one who looked bothered...and he has the capacity to be a top striker in this league.

There is a decent player in there. Lost his way. Smacks of a typical Moyes signing to me. He would be a natural successor to Pienaar.

We can't afford his wages. Nor can we afford Remy's, or anyone else remotely half-decent that QPR want rid of. Even Pogrebnyak at Reading is on too much money (not that we'd want him).

The team we should be looking at is Wolves - they are in dire straits since they let themselves get taken over by an R.S. and they have a few talented players - O'Hara, Hennessey, Griffiths; and we all know that Moyes will try and get Doyle (if he stays).

I was at QPR v Stoke the other week (long story) and thought Hoilett was the worst player on the pitch. And believe me there were some very bad players on the pitch that day...

Hoilett is Toilet! Another little money-grabbing merchant. Better we stay well clear of these wannabees

Here in Oz we get to see every PL game on TV. This allows weekly checks on all players mentioned in connection with the Toffees.
I would not have Hoilet even if he was on a free.
