Fenerbahce back in for Heitinga

11/05/2013 | Comments (36)
John Heitinga is once again being linked with a move to Turkey with talkSPORT claiming that Fenerbahçe will approach Everton with regard to signing him this summer.

The Dutchman was linked at one time or another last year with a move to Fenerbahç, Galatasary and Besiktas, as well as his old club Ajax in January but he has remained with the Blues despite enduring a frustrating season as bench warmer behind Phil Jagielka and Sylvain Distin.

Now 29, Heitinga is entering the final year of his contract at Goodison Park and it would not be a surprise to see him move on irrespective who is named the next Everton manager.

BK had better make sure we get all the money up front from them before he lets Heitinga pack his bags, we don't want the same fcuking about as with Yobo.

Heitinga won't stay with Moyes gone.

Get the best deal for him and (as much as I like him) send him back to his country.

Need to sell him if he's in the last year of his contract. Maybe an exodus might be good. We will find out this summer .

If he wants to go, get the best amount we can for him and replace with Lescott

Sell him ASAP.

Does anyone know if there was a 'sell on' clause in Rooney's contract?

Fenerbahçe are cheeky gits aren't they? Can't possibly be true. Next weeks headlong: Kenwright to give them Heits on a year loan and an option to buy thereafter. Gentleman's handshake. Etc.

Like hell sell to them! They fucked us over with Yobo so tell them to fuck off. This is what worries me now we have no manager, teams now will contact us about selling players and Bill will have pound signs for eyes. Bill will have to deal with this on his own with no manager in his ear saying Yes or No to selling. Does anyone trust him with these decisions? Quicker we get someone in the better. I posted before about maybe Cahill coming back to groom him for the job but with someone with experience: I would like Bilic or Klinsmann.

Paul #104, Lescott is a left sided CB, Heitenga a right sided, it's not a like for like replacement.

I think I'm the only person who doesn't rate Lescott. Even when he was with us, when he played CB the ball was like a hot potato to him. He shuffles his feet and belts it, but when Jags belts it he gets slaughtered.

I don't want Lescott back and I'd sooner give Duffy a chance

There was a clause in the Rooney contract where we get 25% of any profit Utd make and £1m if he signs a new contract. Not sure if the latter cancels the former out and Bill has probably already renegotiated the clause when we signed Saha Neville or Howard.

Eric, that is true. But a centre back is a centre back. After all, Heitinga has been playing midfield for god knows how long, not even his position never mind his preferred foot! And Pienaar plays on the left although he is right footed. I don't think it is the be-all and end-all nowadays.
What I was saying was replace a defender who is out of form or rubbish depending on your point of view with a defender who in my eyes is a lot better.

Yeah good. He should be sold. Smart defender but too slow for the PL.

Btw.. Chris #136 you probably are the only person that doesn't rate Lescott... Great defender and scored goals for us as well.

We'd do well to get £4m for him as some source have suggested.

Should get his high wages off the books as much as anything and try to get a fee while we still can.

Would rather a talented younger European than Lescott. Maybe Dragovic or Alderweid or Bruno martins indi, someone with a bright future rather than a bright past.

I think it's time for him to go, but he was great for us on form. Thanks for the memories Johnny, es

Time to get rid. Best for Heitinga best for Everton.

Thomas Gravesen mk2 - on his day he was great but too much of a liability when out of form. If he leaves for a decent fee I'll be happy, if not then I'm sure he will give his all for the club.

Thomas Gravesen was way way better than Heitinga, better than Gibson too.

Tommy G was good enough to go to Real... but so was Jonathan Woodgate, so that blows my point out the window...

IF they'll pay, then I'm happy to say goodbye. Heitinga has had some great games for Everton and I don't think he's a terrible player, but he clearly doesn't want to be here and should go as part of a summer rebuild along with Felliani and hopefully NOT Baines.

Chris Morris #136 - I agree. Remember the Cup Final? By the time Lescott realised Drogba was there, the ball was already goalward bound.

People on here keep moaning about how Fenebahce messed us about, that may me true, but we were the one that messed FC TWENTE about as well. Fer had to go back there after he thought he'd singed for us. Its funny how his knackered knee hasn't caused him any trouble since. I bet they isn't any problems with a medical when he finally signs for another club.

Did our Board really have any intentions of signing anyone all along? Did they want to give Moyes money to spend on players of his choice, when not knowing if he would sign a new deal?

Matt Traynor

Mark #729, Fer has played 15 times since that transfer collapsed, but our side put out the story about the knee, and tried to go with a low down-payment, and pay on the drip. The FC Twente Chairman said we'd gone back on the agreed payment structure, as we didn't have the cash.

Who to believe?

I also recall someone on here said it was dependent on someone being moved on, which fell through. Also plausible with BK's Austerity Everton.

The answer to that Mark is no. It was a disgrace the way we acted there your right

Yeah, let's sell everybody and start again!!!

These players who have consistently kept us in the top 6 or 7 for years are all shite, too slow, overpaid and boring.

Some of you need to have a word with yourselves.

Been a crap week in many respects, getting trampled all over by those Mancs and their media frenzy, but some of you are just so bloody negative all the time. You're entitled to your opinions, but if we had Messi some of you would still be picking holes in his play.

Johnny would be up for a job in Turkey, but I'd assume he'd be holding out for a spot at Gala with his old mate Wes.

I've never hidden my love for JH, so it pleases me to think that before we sell any of our supposed "back-up" players we need to settle which of our starters are staying or going.

Moyes has always had a hard-on for Jags, and with United's back-line not being the consistent four it once was I can see him being a target. If he goes we can't sell Johnny.

Cant Moyes buy JH instead of Jags.

We shouldn't deal with Fenerbache whatsoever after the disgraceful way they acted over the Yobo deal. On the other hand, if they were paying over the odds and cash up front principles could be shelved for a bit! I like JH, seems like a great character to have around the club, but he is too slow and has been unable to displace either of the speedy Buzz and Jags combo for long enough to really establish himself. If we could get in enough cash to fund a move for Lescott I would say that was great business!
